    Problem replacing flexi brake pipes

Come across this many times either its rustid in or its been ****ed up too tight and clamped itself into the nut, more common with the softer copper pipes. Just cut the coont and put a ring key on it and replace the pipe. Be careful with joining, at one time it was wrong to join a female end...

    Output shaft renewal

I'l second that, of all the mechanical work I have done trillions of engines, gearboxes have always been a bastid with their own little tricks to trip you up, and you will probably have to get axcess to a press to get the gears off. Most folk send them out for repair these days to somebody set...

    Half Shaft or Diff?

With a half shaft broken nothing turns the diff just free wheels, gona have to take the diff out probably anyway if its broke the shaft at the diff end and to get any broken bits out. On trucks if you spin a wheel back and forwards you can just about feel the diff spinning, or if the shafts...

Cylinder head and water in engine

I doubt that, its a fairly common problem this, lifting the head off or turning the engine displaced the liner seal, it fell to one side and got stuck then the head got put back on and squished it so it needs a set of seals. Sounds like the pistons are gona come out so you might want to put a...

Cylinder head and water in engine

Often with wet liners, if you are not careful removing the head you can disturb them, also you should not turn and engine like this unless you have clamps on the block. Other than that them engines are total ****e.

Engine rebuild. Biting off more than I can chew?

Before you start an engine rebuild it actually needs one and not because it has another fault causing the loss of power. Massive loss of power and high fuel consumption, no oil loss or smoke. Sounds like a cylinder down or the turbo aint working, start with cracking each of the injectors and...

    Disco1 steering guard

Mine does the same job, however been trying to get through ditches??, as you come out the rear part of the steering is exposed and gets whacked, and since the damper is bigger than the rod it gets it furst, the bastid. To be honest I would have been better with the damper off coz I had to take...

    Disco1 steering guard

Dont understand how, I fitted one and it went on ok. Had to drill out the bolt holes in the chassis tho the standard bumper bolts are a bit too flimsey so fitted big bastids. Also they dont really help the steering a lot since the rear section is still exposed and I have done it in several...

2.0 D Engine won't start after having it taken out

You need to determine if the fork is still connected to the release bearing although since its all internal I dont know of you can see in to check this. Its not uncommon for the fork to slip out and now the slave cylinder is at full travel. if you can check these things to give me some more...

    Hand Break Sticking

When adjusting handbrakes its always a good idea to disconnect the cable, or just make sure its well slackened off, you then adjust the drum and then go for the cable. If you do it the other way you often get mad problems with them. And all the other suggestions **** in the drum, springs etc...

Ordered up a paint suit, the mask is from a hire shop, a powered number with twin filters and full face, they tell me it works on all types of paint but its not air fed. Not sure about gloves tho, told it has to be special ones. I'm sure they used to spray that stuff with a normal mask at...
