Hi J. It's easier to get to the part by taking the manifold off, that should take no longer than 30 minutes, from there you wil be able to unbolt the Y connector. They get brittle over time and can leak it's very rare it's the hose, but of...

The heater in a Defender, when working ok and properly sealed, is sufficient for the UK climate. Using Vaseline on door seals stops the doors from sticking to frozen seals and a good radiator muff like the exmoor trim one helps.

My old thread ! An update l tried to sell it in 2022 for £22,000 but it didn't move, not a single enquiry. The mileage was by that time 155,000. I think values had also fallen from the post-covid peak. l dropped the price to £20,000 then l had...

That’s for a tool roll mate. Bit rough but it works. Base plate on mine sat behind the passenger seat but I use a bottle jack instead of the original one, bit safer I thought.

I’ve just purchased a 2004 Defender 90 Td5 County in Cairns Blue to add to my Marine blue Series 2a diesel and Series 3 petrol station wagon. Behind the Td5’s driver’s seat attached to the bulkhead is what looks like an original bracket with a...

OK, I have my replacement 75amp alternator. I’m reading that this needs a 4mm thickness of wiring. Is that just replacing the thicker brown wire going to the solenoid/battery? Al

Dont bother trying to press the old bushes out run a drill bit through the bush a couple of times just catching the inside of plastic outer and you should be able to collapse the outer and hook them out with a screw driver.

Are you still on points? Are they actually opening and clean on the contacts, remember these trigger a spark front the system.. They can close and or even build carbon on the contacts and never break the circuit to cause a spark🤔

Update: Ok so I’ve fitted a new viper coil and ignition amp from PS and no difference. I’ve checked and cleaned all grounds while doing so. I’m really clutching at straws here now lol. To reiterate I’m getting 12 volts to the amp and about 10.8...

Interesting ... I didn't know that (all of my cars have been 300tdi's or earlier). I guess you could short out the two wires on the brake fluid res to see it that was the issue ... ?
