As long as your burner is installed properly and HEPA compliant your neighbours would only know you have one as you first fire it up. Once its burning at the correct temp there is virtually no smoke visible out of the chimney. :D
Nice to have what I said put into technical terms!!!:D:D:D
But totally agree with the sentiment.
So get that burner in,boy!! Get that burner in!!!:D:D:D

We are not in Winter yet and the average daily energy cost is running at £9.97/day.
That's £310 per month. :(
Avg. daily Kwh Electric is 16.34 and Gas is 34.6
I reckon that real winter temperatures will see the gas triple but the electric only increase marginally.
What really annoys me is that the Admin charge is running at 6% for electric and 7% for Gas. That's for doing what? I take the readings, they send me an e-bill.
Aren't their costs of supply part of their business costs? Why am I paying? Its a scandal.
Does the Supermarket charge you for producing the till receipt? NO.
Wow, I suppose it is because of the size of your property. We only spend around £80 a month on both. It is locked in for another year. The standing charge is a joke.

I finks @DanClarke 's place is like my old place detached and built in 1928. Cavity walls etc etc. Even thought he cavities had that polystyrene ball stuff in. Cost more to heat it by far than our place we live in now, built in early 80s, Swedish timber framed and extremely well insulated. We couldn't believe it when we compared the bills. Despite it having 2 more bedrooms another bathroom, a utility etc. and many more rads.

1936 Solid Brick only cavities are in my teeth. :(
12 room (inc. the Downstairs loo). All fully DG but 8 foot tall rooms that soak up heat. :)
