As you are probably aware structural corrosion is the biggest killer of LR products, the Classic is certainly no exception so the condition of the shell is your starting point. I suggest you do your homework re. the likely cost of restoration vs value of the vehicle once up to an acceptable resale standard.

Classics are getting rare & as always the original iteration of a design is the best.
Thanks Norseman, Yes agree that she will need to be looked at structurally and will start with getting her over to a trusted mechanic to look her over and give me a verdict. Worth a punt, I think!
 
A caveat regarding insurance. If you only have the one car insured in your name and you cancel the insurance on it because it's not in use, you ae likely to lose your no claim discount. It did not affect me as I had 3 vehicles at the time.
