Would any one be interested in doing the London To Brighton Land Rover Run, I've book a place again. It's on Sunday the 8th of October and costs £25, you get free camping at Crystal Palace on the Saturday if you want, L2B T'shirt, and free parking on the see front at Brighton there are normaly part stalls and club stands to look round, done it the last 2 years and it's been good. I downloaded my entry form from the South London And Surrey Land Rover Club site.

Woooo hooooooo money arrived in the bank in the nick of time... off to do some last minute shopping, grab the trailer, load it and run. Kris see you this afternoon....

Jai, I'll give you a call in a while see what time things are kicking off.

there is a simple answer........................

GET A DEFENDER :) :p

Dan

Ok, a newbie here, with a 1991 Disco with Tin Worm, so i need a new 4x4 without it being $x$.....and a defender van 90 300tdi was my choice but as i live just by that pricey shop next to Tescos in Colney Hatch lane N11,i am worried about the London Emission from 2010....the only good thing is that shop will probaley go bankrupt if it comes in

So what are others with deisel Defenders doing? What passes and what fails the zone....how do we get round it....buy a 3.9efi engine and leave it at the back of the garage just in cases i need to change to petrol or do ibuy a new disco ( possible a 1999 td5) for the same money a good defender would cost..any veiws?

alright fella,

i got a 300tdi defender and i wouldn't change it for the world, i dont think the 2010 zone will effect the landy as a car, however if its classed as a van or commercial veh it will be effected,
i would suggest if your looking for a car for every day use then get a disco, its much more domesticated than the defender, however saying that as shown by the salisbury trip this weekend, my pretty basic defender beat all the lifted, modifyed discos through the sticky stuff. so if its for a "weekend car" or "off roader" get a defender, you won't regret it. and look at 300tdi's in either defender or disco much easier to maintain and repair(and cheaper) than a td5 . plus alot of people on here have 300's so you can get help and spare parts should you get stuck

PM me with where your living n you can come for a drive in my 90.....

it a 7 seater SW 90 then, as i have a company car...so it just to take the Labrador to trent park...so the company car don't smell of wet dog when i pick up the boss's wife.....and of course to play of road.....thanks for the drive offer but idriven a 200tdi 110 and liked it but found the clutch stiff but a 300tdi 110 five door i looked at had a much lighter clutch ( seemed a different peddle mechanics)

i when to the shop in tesco's car park yesterday to see if the do the seat rails to raise the seat( i'm 6 ft 4).....they did not know the price but ,said they did but had none in, .any ideas on who else would stock them between n11 to markyate/Luton ( where i work)

Hey you work in our neck of the woods then... we're in dunstable!

An update on the Spydiemobile. I took it to the Diesel specialist recommended by Jai, this morning. It's booked in with them for tomorrow to get the engine sorted. They seemed to think it should be a straightforward job, after all almost every part of it is new, after the rebuild by DB.
If all goes to plan, I'm going to give it a bit of a test on Saturday. Was thinking Ashwell or Santa Pod. I want something that will really stretch it. Anybody fancy coming along?

I wish I could Im off to the south coast with Rach for the weekend If you make it the weekend after I will be up 4 it. You should notice the differance straight away, its not right, it should be flying my 90 did an indicated 70 on 750's when it was dead (im sure you remember the smoke and glowing oil light) so a series should hold 60 esp with it being lighter mabe your gearing is a little high with your tyres but should be much better than it is. many times recently.
