    2.5 N/A to 3.9 V8 EFi Conversion

I managed to fit mine back in without splitting, (tdi/LT77) long nose pliers bit of sticky stuff on back of clip and a good light pointing at it, its fiddly but possible.

    Classic looking off road tyres

Best to use 7.5 x R16 size for series, anything wider will stick out the arches slightly and steering gets heavier. Michelin XZL seem to be the favourite for off road grip and still good on road but fookin xpensive for a set

Anyone got a pair of engine mount brackets off of a 2.25 petrol or diesel going spare? Finally getting round to putting a proper landy engine in me lightweight which currrently has a transit  diesel engine in it Ad

    Clutch spigot bearing

James, Would it come out on the spigot when engine and box are separated or is it normally trapped behind friction plate?

    Clutch spigot bearing

Scuse my ignorance but whats the purpose of this little fella and where does it go? Reason i ask is that i just finished fitting disco engine n box to my 110, the engine cam with fairly new clucth on it and the bloke i bought it off gave me the release bearing so i fixed it all together, never...

    Disco Alloys on a 90

I ava 1985 110 with the original brakes n axles, freestyle and RRC alloys fit on the rear drum but not on the front, just as jai says. Interestingly also av a light weight with coiler chassis and RRC axles (disc front n rear, domed hubs). The alloys don't fit properly on there either, they are...

    tdi vs NA radiater

k cheers lads, i assume the stock 200tdi chassis must have the lower mounts on it then. Perfect little job for a saturday morning that one:p

    tdi vs NA radiater

I thort that was only if u used the disco 200tdi rad - does it apply to the fender one as well?

    tdi vs NA radiater

Just doing tdi conversion on me 1985 110 N/A, bought a defender 200tdi radiator and frame specially for the job but it seems to be slightly taller than the old N/A one - it does fit and you can close the bonnet but the brackets on the tops of the wings don't hook over the lugs properly. I was...

    TD exhaust for 200tdi

Done a quick search and some folks saying that its ok to use the TD (i.e. 19J) exhaust with a 200tdi engine, whats peoples thoughts - is performance affected or are they near enough the same systems?

    clutch diagnosis

yeah - i did spray loads of oil on the pivot so possibly was the rod movement/angle and might have affected piston movement causing binding.

    clutch diagnosis

OK, cheers for the replies. Had chance to take a look yesterday, pressed clutch pedal couple times and there was resistance again but felt like it was binding/sticking (almost like metal on metal rubbing). No evidence of fluid leakage. Checked inside pedal box, the actuator rod was all ok...

    clutch diagnosis

Ok, who's gonna be a clever boy and correctly diagnose this before i pull it all apart and find out; Driving along all normal, clutch down, gear change fine, but pedal comes up very slowly as if binding. Same thing happens again straight after, and then third time the pedal just goes straight...

    power steering pump help please

You have to get one with the same number bolts, most defenders are four-bolt i believe. When mine went on my 1985 110 i managed to get a TD5 take off that was in good condition but like James says the pressure pipe fittings from the pump to the box are different on later ones so if u get second...

    LT77 into series 3

OK, clutch went yesterday and the GB was already knackered so i'm gonna have a go at this. Got a decent defender LT77 ready to go in, but have a couple more questions - my lightweight has a shoretened RRC chassis so will i be able to get away with leaving the cross member or does it still need...

    Discovery Alloys?

I had that problem on my 1985 110, freestyle alloys fitted ok on the rear drums (with centre cap off) but on the front the drive member and bolts seemed too big and made it too tight a fit, you have to grind some metal off the inside of the alloys. Had the same issue with my RRC chassis on my...

    LT77 into series 3

James how much shorter would the rear prop need to be - wouldn't it create too steep an angle?

    110 CSW chassis questions

When I did mine I replaced the rear tub at the same time so it was easy but I reckon you could get away with just lifting threat tub a bit. Start by removing the second row floor panel, you should the see that the x membe r is bolted to each of the chassis rails with 2 bolts. It's also bolted...
