Hi lads, im just looking to confirm i have the correct name for the following pieces:

1: The crossmember the sits under the second row seats and attaches to the rear outriggers, is this it?? LR542 | Main body cross member
if not, would it be called the 'center crossmember' and where might i get one?? :D

2: the brackets that connect this crossmember to the outriggers, anyone know what they are called or where to get them?

thanks in advance lads :)

So heres some pictures of the bad points on the chassis, looking for yere oppinion on what needs to be replaced/repaired :)

I personally think i need a new center x/member and to patch the front offside outrigger at the front.

I ran out of camera battery on the nearside rear outrigger but ill get a picture up asap :)

anyway, thoughts??

incidentally, anyone done a replacement if the center crossmember? any advice?

When I did mine I replaced the rear tub at the same time so it was easy but I reckon you could get away with just lifting threat tub a bit. Start by removing the second row floor panel, you should the see that the x membe r is bolted to each of the chassis rails with 2 bolts. It's also bolted to the sill rail at each end remove all these, lift the tub a few inches and in theory it should come out. It won't tho, cos it'll b rusted to sh!t - so get the angle grinder ready!

I think your 110 looks bad enough with thick corrosion to need a strip down and shotblast to find out the extent of the rot at best otherwise I think you may need a chassis.
Ive been doing landys for a long time and its always worse than it looks:(

Have a little faith :p This weekend is going to be a busy one cleaning down the chassis to bare metal as best i can, and re-painting it in hammerite.
Just ordered the Rear X-Member from Pressbrake, cant wait for it to arrive so i can get cracking on the rotten back end of the 110!!

Will upload pics of the progress!

The first time I did my chassis it came back from the blasters needing NINE plates welding on!!!!! Once done it was sorted, well at least until some prat drove into the rear! If in doubt strip it all down, blast it and hammerite it.

Tell me about it, the list is already growing, started the cleaning process of the chassis properly this weekend, started on the worst side first to get it out of the way, covered in grinder spark burns and cuts, and looks like ill be buying a sheet of 3mm sheet next weekend. im going to replace the cross member that the rear A-Frame attaches too, its not that bad but for piece of mind i want to do it right and not have to worry about loosing the back axle while giving it welly off road :D

so far the list is as follows:

Rear X-Member + extensions: Arriving next week

A-Frame X-Member: Fabricate/Buy in the near future

Center X-Member: Will get a length of box section to suit

F/O/S Outrigger: to be ordered next week.

Im sure the list will grow the more dirt i remove, but for now, can anybody tell me if i remove the second row seats and the floor will i be able to remove the a frame crossmember easier or am i making more work for myself? :)

We should start a pressbrake fan club. I too am a happy punter of a highly engineered rear crossmember (wonder how much I could charge for membership :D:rolleyes: I could give up my day job YIPPEE :D

Haha, we could indeed :D :D

Crossmember arrived today at home, havent seen it yet but according to the father it weighs a tonne :D cant wait to get down home to have a look at it! Fair play to PressBrake, top quality delivery time considering you had to fab it and all!!

Myself and hogan, were up at the crack of dawn yesterday to get the new crosmember onto the 110, seriously dirty job :( heres a look at the progress :)

I have to say that crossmember is some serious piece of kit, fair play to pressbrake!

what ye think??

I changed the A frame crossmember on me 110, could'nt find one so I chopped one off a RR chassis (they are the same)that I had lying about.

Was a reight bastid to get old one out and new one in.

Got some pics if yeh want !
