You never forget your first love, once you've got it running properly again she'll soon be asking for the keys . Hope the cause of the smoking is not too serious.Took out all the injectors, and span over the engine to remove the excess fuel. Battery on charge so tomorrow, I can compression test all 5 cylinders. Cant see much wrong so far. All O rings look round, and not flat, and the copper washers all have good seals.
Need to try and diagnose why the engine is so smokey, so I think a new thread is on the cards tomorrow, for some of your expert advice. Im thinking rings or valve stem seals. Either way, I think its getting a new Ering head gasket.
All before the weather turns cold, and I havent the heart to get under it, and make it driveable again. The missus has just bought a Q3 Quatro, S Line, so she wont ever want to drive my ropey old Disco again now.....View attachment 326676
