I've replaced the front fog lights on the D3 and have also fitted LED lamps, the AC gas has been pulled out and replaced.

It is now freezing inside with the AC on.

My D2 now has reversing lights and rear parking sensors, for the first time since I've owned it!
(Broken pin in XYZ switch)
Now just need to (1) get the chassis rails welded, (2) work out why the alternator only works part-time, (3) Fix the intermittent "3 Amigos" issue, (4) clear the sunroof drain blockage.

That time again for the old girl, full service mystery by myself with MAF and MAP sensors cleaned, treated her again to a dash of ZX1, quiet as a mouse now.

1 Fitted new bias plate and springs to gear stick as it was sitting over 1st and 2nd position.
can easily select all gears now.
2 Lubed up the 3rd row seat cables and joints, a lot easier to set up now.
3 Checked the injector harness for oil, all good.
4 Purchased a new rear exhaust section only to have the middle section go now so will be buying that too.

Andy from Hull

Took out all the injectors, and span over the engine to remove the excess fuel. Battery on charge so tomorrow, I can compression test all 5 cylinders. Cant see much wrong so far. All O rings look round, and not flat, and the copper washers all have good seals.

Need to try and diagnose why the engine is so smokey, so I think a new thread is on the cards tomorrow, for some of your expert advice. Im thinking rings or valve stem seals. Either way, I think its getting a new Ering head gasket.

All before the weather turns cold, and I havent the heart to get under it, and make it driveable again. The missus has just bought a Q3 Quatro, S Line, so she wont ever want to drive my ropey old Disco again now.....

You never forget your first love, once you've got it running properly again she'll soon be asking for the keys 🙂🙂. Hope the cause of the smoking is not too serious🤞.

Gutted, pheasant flew out of the hedgerow & hit the D2's driving lamp & broke the lens  only taken me 4 yrs to find two decent lens for the ones that were on it when I got it :vb-bomb:

Unfortunately don't know if it actually died (but I flipping hope it did) & I couldn't stop as I was on my way to Hereford to see son/granddaughter (& my old FL1 which is still going great 🙂). I got the lamps from Newbury LR spares day last year so looks like I'll be paying it another visit next Sunday 🙄.
