No I aint leaving the metal on 🤣 The trusses are plenty strong enough plus if you look at the garage walls you will see some
pillars, im putting H beams on top of these to give more support, plus I can fit rollers on em.:cool:

Thats a cracking space to have:D. Disappointed there's no pit though. Yes H beams are needed, I have 2 in my garage, wish I could have got away with doubling the width (but too risky).
Wonder how long it will take before you struggle to get 2 cars in there:p.

I'd love a garage like that, great loft too.

I'm surprised the scaffold boards are cost effective because they are thick and sturdy so you'd have thought they wouldn't be cheaper than ordinary floorboards. Makes a nice strong floor though.

As @Stanleysteamer mentioned do you have to account for the weight though? I would think they must be much heavier than a floor made of floorboards or tongue and groove chipboard sheets etc?

I had to buy new boards for the scaffold & I thought since ive done a few floors with them id use them for the floor. I could make
other things out of them & buy other material for the floor. Ive seen that chipboard flooring tbh ive not priced anything else.
I might do that later, only one issue is delivery here is a pita or use one of two local merchants one will be a no no.
Now your making me re-think. (now thats dangerous) 🤣🤣

Snot afternoon here yet, your lucky to have nice weather its cats n dogs here, tis to get colder so either snow or frost I like the
frost at least I can work outside. Not back to work until monday.:banana::banana:

We had a frost this morning, when I took my mug of hotel coffee over the road into the Sea Garden (goggle it Varna) for a smoke, sitting in the sun :).
When I say back toit I mean it in a retired/relaxed way. But I have to be the hunter gatherer, well, the quad+trailer will get a run to the wood shed and then I have to stack it in the rear porch;). We seem to have a not nice weather forecast for the weekend.
so you all know what they say about PPPPP:p.

We did look at putting a pit in but it was too risky being very near close to flowing water, my mate said he could do it
the planning would be a headache id probably still be waiting for it to get passed.

I had 3 cars it before the concrete went in 🤣 🤣

Fur enuff!!
Here is a bit of advice, (gulp not like me I know) but my ex s-i-l did it in a garage he built.
If you are going to use I beams and rollers, why not have one that pivots at least at one end, the other end on rollers off a beam going the other way, (or you have two beams that go sideways) so you could winch an engine out then simply swing the beam sideways and move the engine out of the way without having to shift the car?
I can see that if you don't the height this may be a non starter, and if you have the length then the beam and rollers would be enough on their own.

I'll shut up now!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

I put that chipboard loft flooring down in guess what? The loft. It's OK, but nowhere near as thick or strong as the scaffold boards, obvs.

Really depends where he puts his bench/work area.
Mine runs front/back from the middle 1 so it gets out of the space a car takes.
Mine also runs right up to the edge of the bench so anything heavy could be got there :).
Did I mention Peas earlier;).

Good point!
It all takes more thinking out than you'd think!
Lots of peeps seem to drop engines etc onto wheeled, or castered, strong tool boxes, but that involves a REALLY smooth floor.

Sorry you lost me at "Peas"!
