Afternoon
Still looking for tow car, looking at Mondeo and Rover 75 diesels
Anyone got one or similar ?
We used toown one, well its predecessor, a rare model of Rover 220 turbo diesel. It was one of the few "fly by wires" ones they made and it went like stink!
I once took my wife to Ringwood to drop her off at the coach for her journey to Lunnen for work.
I noticed she wasn't wearing her glasses, I said I'll nip back and get them for you!
The coach queue was laughing, "You'll never make to Ferndown and back in time!"
Well I did! The coach hadn't even arrived.
We gave it to our son in law and he REALLY liked it too, until some idiot wrote it off for him.
This review of a Rover 75 is quite interesting, but sadly doesn't mention how it tows.

But this one says it is a fine tow car.

That's a good point and leads us into the next lesson. Your spring has a fixed mass, and the force it exerts due to gravity will always be the same (on earth). But not all forces are due to gravity. Your spring is there to store energy which can be released as a force. When you use your torque wrench, it's force due to gravity does not change. The force used to generate the torque comes from your muscle power.
Whoops!
Don't get me started on springs!
I once wrote an article on springs for the Marlin owners mag that was so long the editor had to get the chairman's permission to publish it! The printing costs were a lot more than usual!!

Suspension for kit cars can be a great problem if peeps try to use the donor springs, as KCs are so much lighter.

(I'm not as thick as I make out. That's it cover blown!)

Have you ever seen how a 2CV is sprung?
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Let's just say, "horizontal and very remote"!

Looked it up and towing weight is 1500kg plus it's 1.9 so should have been up to it, he wouldn't take less than 2250 though which would stretch me a bit. it's a 2010 model
I'd HATE to tow with a front wheel drive vehicle.
For me has to be rear wheel drive or 4x4.
Just my 4 pennorth.
and doubtless loads would disagree.
Was on hollibobs once as a nipper. We were towing a small caravan with a Morris 1300.
Nightmare!

Certainly have. Used to have a Citroen Ami 8 in mid seventies. Same chassis and suspension as the 2CV and the Dyane. Great little bogey too.
You probably know that the Lomaxes are based on the 2CV, and maybe an Ami 8's underpinnings would do. One of the few kit cars you can register in France. although I talked to a French owner of one and he told me it took three years to register it.
My brother used to own an Ami 8, it was great fun!
I would love to own a Dyane as they are much cheaper in France than a 2 CV, whose prices are eye watering.:):):):)

Afternoon folks :).

Not getting involved in the Wt V force discussion, all I know is I weigh the same as when I was 20yrs old but to force my self to get up now seems to need more effort, which of course is force:p. So its all in me head.

So I have been clearing out the East wing of all the wood butchering offcuts from the decking job, It was used on the fire yesterday and will be tonight too.
Put the digger away to bed in the stable for the winter, must remember to disconnect the battery this year and bring it in.

Counting down the days to "bubble & squeak":).

No snow here yet although forecast for the west of the country.

We have a horrible feeling our son's marriage to his Japanese wife may be on the rocks, which might partly account for why granddottir is coming to school over here. Apparently he has "somethings to tell us about" and we haven't heard from them in any Christmassy mode at all yet. :(
Bin resurching it ont web, i.e. how the nips divide things up.
Hmm!:(
