Thas made the the inside of me head scratchy. I get the kilo bit, is always the same mass but not the same weight depending on g. But I thought a n was a constant, independent of g. I mean a force doesn't always go down as it were does it. And small things, like a solenoid or spring, can exert more force than they weigh?

I stopped gettin educaterated at seventeen, bear with me..
That's a good point and leads us into the next lesson. Your spring has a fixed mass, and the force it exerts due to gravity will always be the same (on earth). But not all forces are due to gravity. Your spring is there to store energy which can be released as a force. When you use your torque wrench, it's force due to gravity does not change. The force used to generate the torque comes from your muscle power.

Morning All. :D
A bit of a frost this morning here. Luckily it is her day to go get the paper as she has "Mother's" butcher shopping to do.:)
Sat here in the warm with a good strong coffee and contemplating what to do today. I think some house cleaning is in order. :)
Hoover everything and swab the decks I think. Then go play in the workshop. :)
My 2WD units are coming along nicely and I am sure folks will want them. Have a lovely day! :D
