As a kid, I can remember us breaking down in a VW beetle on the way back from a holiday in Norfolk (we lived in SE London).
The thing wouldn’t start again on the Woolwich ferry!

But, cos it were the good days before ‘elf and safety took over, the guys on the ferry left us till last, then just pushed the car, with the whole family in it, onto the ramp and just lifted it so we could roll down and off!

Towed home by my uncle.

The thing started fine the next day 🙄

My family when I was a kid, drove to Spain in a Mini Traveller with all camping gear etc. 4 of us. So in the days before motorways. It killed my old man's shoulders holding it on the Frog roads, which in those days were more steeply cambered and a lot rougher than they are now.
It was OK until the petrol pump played up. So a Belgian mech fixed it, he was there on a working holiday, those were the days!
On the way back after the hol it broke down again and this time we had to get a pump sent out from the UK.
So we had an extra 3 days holiday on the AA 5 star insurance! :)

2 star fuel back then too.

I remember being in my dads 110, he had a camping gas fire on in the back cause it was like the artic in the back
it was the middle of winter, but it fell over & set the carpet on fire told me to jump on it with my penny back shoes on (no chance) 🤣
Pulled in at the bus terminal with loads of people all pointing, smoke pouring out of it & he was going mental as I wouldnt
jump on the fire cause id melt my cheapo shoes. 🤣🤣

Evening all. Hope everyone made it through the storm ok.

Really ready to wrap up for Xmas now. Bday week this week.
I hope you get your Birthday done proper, tis easy to blend that and Kissmass together sadly. I have a cousin born on Kissmass eve who has this problem.

I've suggested she has a faux Birthday mid summer to compensate, is only fair...

I "taxed" the new/old mini for 12 months online for £0. It brought a tear to my eye that did. :D
The V5 in my name should appear "soon" and it ought to have the correct details (as promised by the seller/competition runner).
The next hurdle is determining an "agreed valuation" ( I will try using the valuation service of the British Mini Club).
Then I will try and get some proper insurance with this "agreed value".
Apparently people are having their little mini's nicked off their drives/lifted onto flatbeds etc.

I always wanted to get a set of the special luggage they made that used all the nooks and crannies.
Sadly as they took up a lot of space and weren't worth very much for a long time so many, basically, got chucked. Space under the seats, huge door pockets, well I don't have to tell you. ;):)
The Tratter was playing up last March at short notice so we took the MX5 down to St Ives for a fortnight. We usually take the kitching sink but the rental was well supplied and, although crammed in, we still took more than we needed.
Vacpac storage bags are awesome :)

We have been using them for years! (well, W does, for clothes!)
Any rack on the top of the boot?
W had two MR2s, Mk3s, when she worked for Toyota. They were SO rubbish for storage. Some took the space-saver spare out and used that space. :)

W insures her Speedster, agreed valuation, with Heritage Insurance, in case that is of any interest.

Wiv being a freelanderer the guv knows eye is an upstanding member of the community. They has put me ont list fer doing ons surveys. Just finished another.
Definitely a Freelander owner is seen as a more refined and well-rounded person, capable of making proper decisions about vehicles.
I was asked to do IPSOS surveys - get quite a few through.
