Still trying to come down from the plumber's bill.
£302 for fitting a pump and a valve that didn't work.
He wants 150 odd sovs for the flipping pump alone.
Two hours labour @ 50 sovs per hour  plus vat.

Thinking back on it. What he should have done was take the new valve back off, refit the one that worked and take it all from there.
But no, he rang his mate, who couldn't help him, panicked, threw his hands up in the air said "I'm a plumber not an electrician!" and ran off to his next job.

Still at least now whenever W says "Why don't you just "get a man in"?" I'll be able to remind her of this. As this is going to be the only man who will fix this blasted thing, in the end!
Off in a coupla mins to post all the pressies and cards to frogland and dutchland (tempted to call it "flatland"!
Njoy the rest of the day folks.

Vroom vroom Clarky!!🚓🚓🚓

Thats cheap for a plumber they are more than that here, but then our plumbers know what they are doing. 🤣 🤣

Jeezo!
At least the price he charged for the pump was not excessive. You can pay over twice that.:eek::eek:
As you say, might have been happier to pay it if what he did had worked. Although I have to say that the pump does work, now.
I'll tell him to flip off up to Scotland and see how long he lasts there!

What luggage a pair of pants n socks each 🤣🤣
I always wanted to get a set of the special luggage they made that used all the nooks and crannies.
Sadly as they took up a lot of space and weren't worth very much for a long time so many, basically, got chucked. Space under the seats, huge door pockets, well I don't have to tell you. ;):)

I remember driving an 850 Mini 350 miles to Cornwall on holiday with 4 adults and luggage, 200 miles of which was on A roads. 🙂
Love it!
I used to drive 3 of my mates in my Mini into Bath where parking has always been a pain. I used to shove the front in a small parking space then we'd all get out, pick up the back end and move it sideways into it! Always got a laugh out of the passers-by! 🤣 🤣

After a horrendous storm I have just returned to the land of electricity! 70+mph winds and gusts approaching 90 was not pleasant. Lots of trees down everywhere but peeps did heed the warnings and stayed at home, just as well as they would not have got far as most roads were blocked with fallen trees.

I was wondering if you were affected with the power being off, its no fun being without power. Did you camp out in yer
camper. :):)

Evening all. Hope everyone made it through the storm ok.

Really ready to wrap up for Xmas now. Bday week this week.

Happy Bee day..... xx ;)

My family when I was a kid, drove to Spain in a Mini Traveller with all camping gear etc. 4 of us. So in the days before motorways. It killed my old man's shoulders holding it on the Frog roads, which in those days were more steeply cambered and a lot rougher than they are now.
It was OK until the petrol pump played up. So a Belgian mech fixed it, he was there on a working holiday, those were the days!
On the way back after the hol it broke down again and this time we had to get a pump sent out from the UK.
So we had an extra 3 days holiday on the AA 5 star insurance! :)
