Lovely and sunny here.:)
Bad night with leg, stopped me sleeping.:(
Took one of Wifey's Naproxin int end.
Got up late, faffed around till I could find a comfortable position to sit in as it's having the knee bent that is agonising.
So she's out gardenin and I have just ordered a new Microwave. Had to open an account with FNAC who are like a poor man's French Amazon. Funnily they have been in the book selling business for donkey's years. I remember their big shop in Lille in 1978/9.
If someone there had been a bit more enterprising when tinternet came on, we could have had them instead of Amazon, what a thort?
Spec they just dotted their Gitanes and shrugged!;)
So not doing much of anything and wondering how we are going to get to Blighty and back if Wifey has to do the driving.:eek:
Have a nice day folks!

Sorry to hear about your knee. :(
You are like me with all these self-inflicted wounds. :)
I do hope you improve real soon. I have some of those gel-packs that you can either freeze or heat for these occasions.
I bought a 3-pack of Kinesiology (or is it Knees-y-ology) tape as the medial ligament I have bruised/sprained responds well to that and after tonight's bath I shall strap my knee up and await relief.
I am all booked for a 2-3 day "Trike-touring-test-Run" at a National Trust place in Cambs' as a "go/no-go" gauge for the Holland trip in June starts Tuesday Morning @10AM.

I know what you mean about precursors to Amazon. My friend owned a string of Electrical retail shops and when I suggested to him back in the mid 90's that he should sell online only and ditch the shops he scoffed at me and declared that footfall was king in his game. I also told him to mailshot all his never-never HP customers as they got towards the end of their payment period with tempting upgrade/replace offers to re-commit their monthly spend with him and keep revenue streams going (which he did), never paid me a penny for the idea though. He's a multi-millionaire, I am not. :D

...that now my P60 statements are in from all my pension providers I can clearly see that HMRC have grabbed £142.40 more in tax than they should have done.
Now if you imagine that there's 11 Million pensioners in the UK today if HMRC have taken an additional £100 from each of them, then that's about 1.5 billion the taxman has stolen.

I haven't dared do anything official about my knee, bad though it is, as we'll be on the road two Sundays hence and the last thing I need would be to be in a cast or summat.
All I know is that one particular point on the inside of the knee, about halfway between the midpoint and the top, is painful to the touch and if I keep the knee straight, it's ok, if it is bent, it's OK, but moving between the two is excruciating.
I have tried wearing a support bandage but that doesn't seem to help.
If this had happened after the wedding I'd be off to casualty etc, No matter which country we were in.
If it doesn't get better before the end of the week i still might have to.
I spent quite a lot of time this afternoon, taking apart two bits of the old broken hen run, wood and wire mesh, to make one good one that I could cover to give the hens some shade. Only when you cannot bend one knee do you discover quite how bumpy and slopey your land is!! But as long as I kept the knee straight I could work. Just hurt like feck every time I half tripped.:eek::eek:
Re your mate, I wonder how many thousands if not millions of people there are in the world who gave their mate a good idea that he/she subsequently cashed in on and never gave them a penny piece!:(:(:(

You need to get some tape and try this. Strangely, it works.

Forget the colours, just buy some tape and cut it to size.

Fink I'll break out the Gaffer tape tomoz!
After watching that vid another one showed up on assessing your knee to see which of the 4 ligaments or the meniscus (or cartilage) is the problem.
Despite the two Merkins being feckin annoying it was a good anatomy lesson and told me quite few things.
I think I've pulled the medial ligament, quite badly. So you may have some of the same symptoms as me. I don't get any popping or grinding although occasionally my knee will become painful and I have to just let it hang off a step and wiggle the kneecap around then it goes back to normal, for me anyway!
Wonder if I can buy this stuff in France, I'll have to do some specialised searching, or talk to a pharmacist or go to one of the many shops that sell all sorts of surgical appliances.
Thanks for this mate, it could well help!!
Right I've just done a search and found some very informative stuff on how to strap a knee properly and also on K tape,
So I think it'll be possible to get some over here.
they call it "faire un strapping" of course!!
