Morning all!
My right knee decided to come out in sympathy with @DanClarke 's last night.:(:(
Being very silly but only through a narrowish angle, from straight to about 40 degrees!
So today I will be off to the toon to buy some form of stop leak then looking at trying to order parts like, a new pump, coolant pipes and proper jubbly clips.
Also have to buy enough OAT to float a bOAT!!
I'll also be filling the tank, so I'd better take my collection of Krugerrands!
After shoving the stop leak in and checking to see if it was money wasted or not, I hope friend Knee will have recovered enough to allow me to carry on weed-whacking. Stupidly, and this is not the first time, I find a knee support makes it worse not better.
so look forward to the first screening of "Hopalong Cassidy cuts the weeds!"
Have a nice day, all.
:):):)

Went to the toon.
Waste of feckin time.
The more expensive and therefore better additives/stop leak stuff just wasn't on the shelf.
They had various types, like Total (reviews say avoid branded ones like the plague) cheap version of Wynns, a thing called "Metal" but no Berdahl altho they had more or less everything else made by them, no Facom surprisingly, no LiquiMoly, no Holts RW2GA.
So went and bought some fuses for the freezer box, as that was the only reason it stopped working.€6 each for a 5 amp fuse!!! They did say that it prolly went more due to old age than anything else, as it was ancient! (at least getting on for 20 years old, although only used about 4 times a year.)
New water feeder thing for the hens is playing up. Never seem to be able to get a good one of these. Cheapos work but the plastic don't like the sun. This one is more complex in its valves, float etc. I don't fully compremenhend how it works but I'm gonna have to take it to bits to try an get me heed round it to sort it.
Also got to stop the washing machine leaking, refix wires up for W's bean frame.
All fun!
Have a good day!
:):):)

Lovely!
Your missus must be all "goo-goo-gaa-gaa"!!!:):):):)

Not so much goo, goo. But M is definitely more tolerant of young with 4 legs and hairy ears, than she is of the 2 legged new born needing nappies and feeding:eek::D.

The Mare went into the stable to have it, so M went and cleared out the afterbirth this am, Mum and fowl using it to shade from the sun now:).
Oh the the black bag of afterbirth goodness went in the bin:D. Shame we don't have our dog anymore, sure he would have loved that:).

I got out early today to work outside, Have decided its time to start at 8 and finish at 12:), as it is starting to get a bit warm under the sun:).

Yerp sure is hotter here today! 28 degrees.
Your story of the afterbirth reminded me of when I worked as a (the) night porter in a small cottage almost hospital in Keynsham. My duties were security, wheeling out the dead bodies from the geriatric side, and burning the afterbirths in the incinerator, from the maternity side. Plus some cleaning.
I was the only person allowed anywhere near the maternity side due to the risk of cross infection.
Only there three weeks but some fun was had. Like when the bedpan washing machine broke.:eek:
And when one old boy got up, confused and walked to the end of the ward to has a waz. Only trouble was he got the wrong door and went out onto the fire-escape, which set the alarms off! Then they all started waking up, slowly like in a Hammer horror film, all rising up in bed, white as their sheets.
But one skinny old bag jumped out of bed and ran down the ward.
She was hated by the staff as she claimed she couldn't do anything for herself, was doubly incontinent, etc etc. DEFFO couldn't walk a step!
So her cover was blown!!;):D:D:D
I was glad to no longer have to move bags with her soiled bedding in and to have to help turn her when she didn't want it, which she never did!!:):):)

After draining the washing machine which takes ages, as you'll know, even if you put it on "rinse+ spin" first, I took the filter out and it was pristine except for a coupla bits of strimmer plassy thread stuff, obvs left in wuk troos and not spotted by "She who must do the washing, as I don't have a licence."
Thinks she must have over sudsed it, easy to do as our water is sOOO soft.
Bean frame re wired up so the wind won't take it.
Water feeder thing, looked at and came to the conclusion the bleddy thing is just mighty fussy about being exactly horizontal when you put it down. Coupla degs out and it lets all the watter out.
Getting REALLY fed up of my knee. Limping everywhere like I'm trying to attract attention to myself. As if!!
Hope the pain goes off a bit soon. Grrr!:mad::mad:
Think I'll go online and try and order some decent stop leak stuff.
Enjoy!:):):)

Fortunately we had a bit o luck when buying this machine, and we have got its smaller sister at home in the UK.
The filter and draining mech is on the front, behind a little panel, so although it's a bit of a pain, provided you switch it to rinse+spin and stop it once it's just finished draining, there is not so much water to come out of the lickle rubber tube. You put an flattish oven dish on the floor and drain it into that. Then once empty the filter is just a wind in thing next to it. You can do it all with your fingers.
As we have dogs the filters do get clogged quite often.

... that I am sad for my son (and me also). :(
Despite all of his efforts to save his marriage the woman is adamant she no longer loves him, is not willing to do anything other than end all association with him ASAP so she can be with her new "beau".
When she's gone he cannot afford the mortgage on the house anyway, and she wants her "equity" bought out so he cannot afford that and an extended/expanded mortgage to cover that.
So no re-mortgage, no nothing, just sell the house and split the equity. He's very sad, angry, fearful for his children's safety (as she is a nightly drunk and an occasional drug-user). :( :(
It looks like him and the kids will have to bunk with us for some considerable while until he can get back on his feet. This will all take months to grind through and its a big $hit sandwich for everyone to take a big bite out of.
Do I really want my 5 & 8 yr old grandkids living here 24 x 7 x 365? ... No not really. :(
Do I want to see my grandkids living in rented and having a huge upheaval and a $hit life.... definitely not, so best they come here to a place 120yds from their school.
This is going to be awful... but it has to be. Definitely taking one for "Team Clarke" I think. Hey-ho!

This is a truly crap situation. I hope that at some point it you can all put it behind you but as you are painfully aware, it will be a long road :(

Bloody disgraceful. Karma is a bitch too, she'll get bit in the ass too afore long I bet (damn well hope).

My hat is off to you Dan, fwiw i reckon you is a proper dad and gentleman.
As my old climbing mentor used to say "concentrate on the the three feet in front of you and make sure you has a three point fix". I am sure you'll top out eventually and be a stronger, happier unit.

Best wishes to you all.

Mate, feel so sorry for you and yours. Your son is caught between a rock and a hard place, but at least you are going to be his rock and take some of the strain out of the situation.
I DO hope he has taken some real, good, paid for, advice as if she is a habitual drink and drug user the courts will look favourably on him.
You said he earned a lot, well in that case his share of the equity should be much higher than hers, as I have previously mentioned. So if he gets more equity he ought to be able to put a deposit down on a place big enough for himself and kids.
If he wants to play dirty, he can tell her, "If you want half the equity I will fight tooth and nail to prevent you having unsupervised access to the kids. Seeing as how you are an unfit mother and all."
Sounds as if she is already trying to play hardball over the equity anyway.
Having been in the same financial divorce situation, (minus the kids), and being with #1 dottir as she went through it all, I really do understand the problems.
Wonder if her "beau" sees her as a cash cow as a result of all this?
My sympathies to all concerned, (except the one who travels on a broomstick).
