Wimmins were building them in production. A more controlled environment. Different to a restoration.
True but at the beginning of the prog, the bloke who now owns the company said he rebuilt his first one himself!
I'd like to have seen him fit a wing on his own, even doing it mobhanded they struggled!
I also think they are actually restoring them to a higher standard than they were originally built, the bloke kind of hinted at that.
Still a good prog.:):):)

Was with a friend the weekend who built his own plane about 10years ago. Some rule of 500kgs,(the plane & passenger must not exceed 500kgs) you do all your own repairs & get it MOT annually.
Just over £150/month storage but £7 extra for every landing. He flys out of goodwood so the views are nice.....
& no I’m it going up in that....
At least nowadays you need a licence to fly a microlite.
You didn't in the old days.
Had a girlfriend from Wales who had a relation who had one. He also had an eyesight problem. and no licence obvs.
We went out with him, he flew landed, took her up, lansded and feckin nearly overshot the stupid little landing site he was using.
Asked me if I wanted to go up.
Didn't want to upset the bloke by saying I wasn't going to go up with Mr McGoo, so settled for looking like I was chicken. With anyone with two eyes and some competence I'd have gone up like a shot. Such a shame!:):):)
Kit planes look like fun and in many ways are easier to build than kit cars. They also check your build as it goes along so you are not likely to kill yourself provided you can fly.
But the cost of getting your PPL has put me off doing it.:(:(:(

It is more for the legal stuff. I am responsible for anything I designed and if something went wrong I would have access to legal representation.
Aha!
Obvs there had to be a good reason.
I nearly kept up my union membership in case I did some supply, but........

I'll never do it! If I went back I'd end up before the beak having given one a slap!:D

I have said it before and I will say it again, my hat is off to you for the teaching career you had. I would not even entertain that if it was the last job going!!

It was a car load of carpet from the three rooms we just did. I think it would be a little difficult to hide that in the bottom of my bin!!
They charge you for carpet now?
Haven't been to the tip for a while, just get skip from time to time
Sounds like your council tax doesn't buy you much these days

Did they offer to to take it for a price or refuse to take it? Some councils hare stricter than others. Since the walrus tips have changed their processes to distance peeps. At the same time doing more checks. Peeps think this will increase fly tipping. Hence me wondering if they charge to take carpet or refuse it completely. Tips that have the option to burn stuff to create energy may take it. Some may recycle it.

They charge and if you refuse to pay they will not accept it (or anything you have from what the chap said).

Just looked up our tip and they take carpet. They say it's made of multiple materials which are difficult to separate. So that limits the ability to recycle it. Our tip has a contract to send stuff to be burnt so I guess carpet goes there.
