Nope not long in.... I seen my brother for the first time in over a year well chuffed :D
Sadly as you may well be aware, my bruv, who I haven't seen in about 20 yrs, is now in a bad way with the big C. So I think I am going to make plans to go and see him fairly soon, after he comes out of orspicle.
The prob was never him, it was always his wife, but she passed last year so.....

i watched the hurricane restoration and that was good ,though these tend to be a little americanised now which isnt good
Agreed, but you can't argue with how keen the Merkins are on keeping and restoring aircraft in general.
They are blessed with the space and the weather. Would love a go in a Mustang!:)

true but false cliff hangar moments like if this doesnt fit every 3 seconds doesnt help the actual story
It is the difference between an old fashioned documentary, which documented what was happening and modern television which has to get the snowflakes "excited" every few seconds!
Such a joke, but such a shame!
At the end of the day, for all their faults at least they are making films of this stuff and encouraging young peeps to be interested in what we are interested in.
But such a shame the "soap" mentality seems to seep through all TV nowadays.:(

Just watching "The Great British Spitfire" channel 4.
Far more interesting from an engineering point of view.
(For some bizarre reason reminds me of building a kit car.)
I do understand, as they are worth millions, but can't help feeling they are making a meal of it. To think how fast a bunch of wimmins used to throw them together during the war.;):)
Wimmins were building them in production. A more controlled environment. Different to a restoration.

Was with a friend the weekend who built his own plane about 10years ago. Some rule of 500kgs,(the plane & passenger must not exceed 500kgs) you do all your own repairs & get it MOT annually.
Just over £150/month storage but £7 extra for every landing. He flys out of goodwood so the views are nice.....
& no I’m it going up in that....
