Wifey and I are feeling very flat today, wifey has shed a tear or two, we should be packing to drive to the Lakes for Christmas tomoz.

First time we are voluntarily staying at home for Christmas since 1992.
Makes sense to do it but.......
It's a bit sh!t.

Dammit... the second HDD I had connected to the internal SATA on the now broked pooter is showing as Invalid on the replacement laptop using an external USB enclosure.

Took me many years to realise my preference to stay under me own roof over xmas. Its still what I want but not always my decision.

Sorted.

Went to a friends house and connected the suspect HDD to their pooter using an internal SATA connection and copied everything off the disk on to a known working external HDD.

I've got all me data back

Hardwood ain’t called hardwood for nothing. Had to cut down an oak beam from 8x8 to 4x8 to go back on the fireplace. Anyway, chainsaw, power plane, belt sander and the most effective tool a hatchet. Well ffs I’m 85% there just minor adjustments, final sand and a wax.

We dropped off the presents to various family members today. Done all the rounds so Christmas day will just be the three of us. @DanClarke make your MIL part of your bubble so they are not alone as that is allowed.

We are doing just that. The kids/grandkids are on their own. We are looking after the MIL only on Xmas day.

Found wot eye fink is me roof leak. Someone as put a patch of flat roof felt on the rear of me corragatid asbestoss roof ter patch it. Worra bodger. Eye as smuthurd sum left over sillycon lead filler stuf ter hopefully stop it leaking till eye gets me garage rebuilt.
