I would just like to say

Working on my Dolly Sprint. for those not in the know, if you want to take the head off you bolt the camshaft sprocket wheel to a bit of metal with a hole in it that sticks out the top of the timing chain cover. no probs with that.
Then you unbolt the cam from the sprocket, two bolts.
On reassembly, guess who managed to drop one of the bolts all the way down the timing case and into the sump.
And guess who was supposed to be going to his mates for dinner that night with first wife in this actual car. (only car we had)
Anyway, despite what anyone says, it proved possible to drop the sump sufficiently to be able to get a hand into the sump and fish around for seemingly ages until I found the bolt. So got it out and into where it should have been, but i ran right out of time. I ended up so filthy my ex had to scrub me down in the bath, and my mate had to come and pick us up drive us to his place where we had dins with him and his wife then he drove us both home again!
All this cos I was too arrogant to stick a bit of rag in the hole to catch any dropped bolts!:rolleyes:

SWMBO had a moggy thousand when we first got married. I took it in for its MOT but the tester wouldn't pass it because it had no rear reflectors (previous owner had fitted rear lamps off a wagon :rolleyes:). He said to get it back before they close at midday (saturday) with reflectors fitted and he would pass it. In the short space of time I had I got a pair of triangular trailer reflectors and set about fitting them to the boot lid. I drilled through for the screws ---- and straight through the spare tyre :eek:. But on the plus side it passed.

Member of my kit car club did the exact same thing, drilled through his fibreglass boot and into his tyre! and he wasn't even rushing to get it through an MOT! dunno if that makes you feel betterer?!

Morning all from Tier 4 land.
Really unclear about what we can actually do for Xmas.
No household mixing of anyone in Tier4, even on the one day?
I'm happy NOT to see the kids/grand-kids (other than to dump the presents on their doorsteps, wish them a happy Christmas and run.
But, the 91 YO MIL is a vulnerable person all alone. On Xmas Day? Not sure I can allow that.
