Then decided to get to the bottom of the kitchen light that flickers after a while then kills the bulb.
Took it off, found the wire I had put in was hugely long so a bit easier to work with, connected and old standard light fitting and left it switched on in the hole to see if it behaved the same. It didn't so i assume the wiring to that point is OK, then dismantled the cwiling light testing all the connections and resistances as I went not obvs problems so, discarding the mount and reflector, reconnected it and left it on, in the hole for ages to see if it would play up, it didn't so I think it might just have been the contacts inside the bulb holder.
So, all would be fine, but then, while preparing drinks i managed to knock a wineglass with my apéro over on the worktop, bust glass, sh!t.
Then minutes later, taking out the hot bulb that I had put in the light fitting to test it, I dropped that too, on the same worktop! I am never normally that clumsy, although I do not recommend an oven glove to hold a hot lightbulb. :mad::(. Wifey was surprisingly not upset at all! But doesn't glass go everywhere!:rolleyes:

Lucky you, it is dark, dismal and wet 'ere'.

I have just looked out to see the wee one under his hedge surrounded by a bunch of seven threatening magpies moving in on him. I called him in and they hopped it. I caught them scaring him off his dinner last week and then eating it. If I hadn't seen it I would have believed he had eaten his dinner. This cannot go on - the magpies will have to be exterminated. The trouble is, they have got a nest in one of my pine trees and do seem to hang around because of that even though they are all adults now, the family ties seem to be very strong. The tree is big and the nest is high up so that will need a visit by the Tree surgeons - £££'s - if I am to really solve the problem.:(:(:(

They can be very tribal, it's possible a local farmer will sort them with a gun for you ...

If you've been on Norton , I'd go on MacAfee. They are better in some ways, automatic regular scans etc for instance.
My download didn't take that long, it was clearing up the pooter before hand , being hacked etc was the prob!

They normally detect software they dun't like and advise to uninstall first. AV software is quite deep rooted as the service starts before yer log int windows. So an uninstall often needs a restart as part of that. Uninstalls can go wrong like anyfink.

Yer link to the scam web site int nortons fault and wont have come from them. Yer probably search google by spellin norton wrong, which is a known way scammers advertise their own sites. Norton will watch out for peeps who try to mimic them but these sites pop up all the time. When killed they already have alternatives int background.

As with many fings int life, av suppliers want continued business. They dun't make uninstalls difficult ont purpose. All av's have options of auto scanning, boit scanning etc. They're essentially the same fing doing it in a similar way. The interface is different and the speed they react to a problem like a new virus varies.
