Just got in from an evenings laning.....

Was asked by a friend if I would take him and his girlfriend out to show here what laning is about, he wants a 4x4 of some sort so we're tryiing to convince her ;)

Went to turn round in a little gap, caught my front steering rod and bent it like a banana!!!
Seems like my steering guard is not all what its cracked up to be, it should have stopped this happening surely?

Just hoping I can get a replacement bar fitted before the weekend, will be ordering a protector kit from Tarantula 4x4 aswell I think :):)

For real men there is only one choice, although it sounds like he is a bit whipped, so get him a gaylander :D

He's only a mere lad, early 20's I think! He keeps going on about a Vitara or SJ, i'm trying to get him to man up and get a 'proper' 4x4 ;) but dont think he's having it.

When he gets a bit older i'm sure he'll learn lol

Age has nothing to do with it lol I'm 22 and own a Defender, also know many people same age with defenders lol. Anyway Sunday sounds good lads I'm there. I think Essex lanes are a good call, some good challenging stuff. :D

I'm 28 and have my first Disco, will get a D90 at somepoint but would like to practice with this and get my skills up to scratch....also didnt want to really invest so much money but its addictive!

What sort of area in Essex are people thinking of?

And to beat you all I am 18 and the same age as my defender :p Its number plate even starts and ends with the same letters in my name! I'm just so freaking happy I've managed to get insurance for it!

Wish I could come join you guys on Sunday but work is ****ing me about atm...

Hi Dave, thanks for the offer but I got one from my local breakers, paid £20 and got the bar and loads of bits and pieces I needed at the same time!

Thanks anyway though, appreciate it.

Essex it is then. South or North any preferences?

Either is good for me, meeting at South Mimms again? that gives us lot from Hertford way a meeting point and I'm sure you Bedford guys will meet up around your way and travel down.

Coupeuk: I'm sure kids will be fine, alot of people bring there little ones along.

Mimms is great for me, I live 2 minutes away!

Offtopic I know but do you guys know anywhere local that can sort the tracking on my Disco?

Its running 285 KL71's and I guess this may be a problemm for normal tyre places....either Hatfield/WGC way or Letchworth/Stevenagea area if possible...
