Ah, not as good as last night's sight seeing in Nottingham..... :D:D:D
Nottingham... now that is a town that knows how to party at night... some brilliant pubs in the town center and some lovely scenery too...

Last time I spent a weekend up there it was decided that we should go on a monster hunt...

Bloody 'ell did we see some:eek:

Anyone know where I can buy a couple of meters of mild steel Rebar or concrete reinforcing approx 12/13mm dia tomorrow on a Sunday Local?

Lol thank feck it was dry I got my back axle mounted, one side of the back axle hub & brakes overhauled, one front radius arm back on, refitted the front diff and one swivel housing refitted. Pitty its Sunday! Bugger!

Well we got the replacement track rod and new ends fitted; cleaned the handbrake so it all works again, refitted that and had a couple of pints of abbott!

A good day out, rattling my filings in Essex. Got verbally abused by a few ramblers, par for the course really.

Took everyone down the tight lane and over the top of Leonberger's tree.:D
Also make it around the corner that's kept me occupied for a few hours in the past. It's so dry out there.

Great lanes, great vehicles and some great company!

Cheers for today lads, was good to put some faces to names.....my son wants me to get rid of the Disco and buy a 90 with a massive lift- if only they know the value of money!

Never had my Disco scrubbing so much, probably dont help that my rear shockers are pretty much dead! Might have to look at 3" lift instead.

Not that I am any expert of course, but I have been told that a lift of three inches can seriously affect the motor's handling!

3 inch lift some say its a no no others say its on the limit. Depending on what you lift it can be done. Go in with your eyes open it will cost you the best part of £800 plus tyres to do it properly if people say it wont drive their motors look underneath and see what they have missed out. Also 3 inch lift doesn't mean you can fit much bigger tyres to the discovery without surgery to the body work anyway so I wouldn't bother mabe go 2 inch lift and fit 235 85 R16 tyres

shocks £100-£200,
bump stops £25,
Fr cranked arms £200,
Re cranked arms £90,
Springs £100-£300,
Wide angle propshafts £350
+ tyres.

Looking at some serious dosh. It can be done cheaper but will not be great. Better to go and buy a set of Insa Turbo tyres 235 85 R16 and do a nice job on the body work to accomodate them mabe some 2 inch spacer blocks and rear shocks (make sure your Propshaft UJ's do not bind up when axle is fully drooped) lots of checking and things to do propperly.

Sounds pretty fair Jai but don't forget extended brake lines and also higher wear on suspension bushes, you might also need an adjustable panhard rod. Soon adds up. If want to do it on the cheap be prepared for lots of other expenses as things break!!
