Best wheel package i've seen at the moment is with Silverline 4x4 4 33/13.5 mudzilla tyres fitted to off set modular rims, so no wheel spacers needed for £725. the vehicle these were fitted to drove the steps at Hindhead without the use of ladders or winch and some of the stone steps are 2 foot+ high. made it look easy.

I have become a man possesed . first up snorkel and breathers who from and how lol .. then diff guards and steering guard , too many out there
I'd go Paddocks for Diff Guard and Axle Breathers.
If you want real quality go Southdown or Safari for the Snorkel, I've gone for the Stainless Steel Snorkel from Southdown.
Southdown's Steering, Tank Guards, etc. are a work of art, fantastic quality and not stupid money.

Have a look at the pic.

I should of added a picture of the Disco from the front as well, it's that wide with the 13.5 wide tyres that it's made some of the lanes we use bigger, but the tree roots in the banks get stuck in the rim and cause the tyres to go flat.

If I fit Paras as well there's another 40mm of lift available, but the standard springs are pretty new anyway and I've never driven one with paras. I've heard good and bad about them, so would want to try driving one first.

Well, after a gentle night laning the Rangie is throwing another fit.

I nominate the Rangie for the Ba.Stard with Honours degree. As I got home, the oil light came on a tickover but went out at anything above, no funny noises, temp O.K. Thought just a glitch.

This morning, jumped in to go to work, she starts up, runs O.K. but oil light stays on -mmm. So faulty pressure swith or stuck oil pressure relief valve, any oil in it.

So had a quick check lunchtime. Plenty oil, no apparent short on pressure switch wiring. Fired her up and got tappet noise. So either pressure relief valve stuck (looks iffy) or the oil pump is goosed. Bottom line, I'm off the road too for the time being.

Will pull the oil pump thing to bits and see what transpires!!

Thanks for the note of caution Spyderman. Haven't decided exactly how to take this problem on.

I might drop the sump again while I'm at it and see if there is any evidence of nasties in the bottom end (I hope not).

It is a tad tricky when the engine seemed fine, however, oil light on kinda says switch engine off!! Luckily I was on me doorstep when the light came on. Will keep ya'll posted.

Cheers.

It seems my alternator finally decided to go pop too, about 3 minutes from my house last night. I cant really complain ive known about it for ages even carrying the new one.

Hey Gibbo, yea i saw the trailer test a year ago for about a £100 seems the price has rocketed lately but he you can find out where it would be greatly appreciated.

Leonberger, I have a set of 265/70R16 fitted to Disco 1 Steel rims, sitting in my garage, they're fitted with my Pirelli snow tyres. You're welcome to come and have a test fit to see what needs doing to yours if you want to fit that size.
