Say, slight subject change -

has anyone heard from the other guys recently? Not seen DB or 99Claydond on here for a while. I saw Glenn321 and Leonberger the other week, and we saw Kris300TDI at the pub. Anybody know anything?
DB is on a dodgy shift pattern atm.
99Claydond, Glenn & Kris, I believe were going to Brighton today.
Leonberger was really busy at work, spoke to him on Wednesday.

Have you had a quick look at the photos in the S*L*U*T*S Welsh Greenlaning thread? Some good ones I thought. I know the Wayfarer and some other lanes in that area - we gotta do a trip up there at some point. Perhaps next year we can do a North wales trip, start up the top near Rhyl and work our way down toward Bala and whatever else takes our fancy. It would be good, promise.

Sheep;):D:D:D

an its always fekin rainin, and the que at the service station at the top of the Wayfarers gets longer every time I go there

Costs £5 to get into Wales, yet it's free to get out. Anti English I'd say.;)

That's South Wales, I suppose there're getting even for the old law that existed in Chester where you could shoot a Welshman if he was inside the city walls after a certain time at night or something like that.

I have to say I quite like Wales, will be up there next weekend but not in the Rangie this time. Will probably be up there laning just before New Year, hope so anyway. Will ask me mate if I can borrow his marked up maps sometime and if peeps is interested in getting a trip together I'll see what I can sort out.

can always meet you up here, show you the best lanes, non of this wayfarers crap (ffs standard cars can drive over it now)

Kev, I had a very nice week staying in Abersoch, many years ago. Stayed in the same hotel that Patrick McGoohan stayed in when he filmed the Prisoner.
Did the Snowdon and Portmerion bit. Great scenery, almost as nice as Scotland.

So I take you'd be interested in a little jaunt up there then?

I think we'd need to make it a long weekend, leave on a Friday morning, come back on a Monday. It is a bit of a trek but well worth it, if you reckon about 200 miles each way plus whatever mileage you do laning etc. Travelling time from here to where I go up there is about 3 hours by car and not much more by Range Rover, so realistically allow 4 hours by Spydiemobile. Basically, it's double Salisbury.

Let me know/point out where to look on here for that kinda info and meetings! Am looking to do some laning up here, but don't know where to go to look for decent ones.

IS the wayfarer really that easy now? Where is it?

I wouldn't go quite as far to say an ordinary car could drive it but I suppose a gaylander would be fine. As for finding out what and who is near you, the best bet is start a thread and see who is interested. Get some OS Maps and mark up the byways.

IF a North Wales trip comes together, you can be sure there will be a thread. Look what happened when us Hertsfordshire Lanes lot decided to do Salisbury:eek:

I wouldn't mind a trip to Wales next year. Like you say Kev, go Friday, come back Monday. Plenty of time for Brains bitter then.
