Update on the Spydiemobile. Ticks over perfectly, no smoke. Injectors have been bench tested, all fine. Smoke like a train still when revved, injector pump is fooked, it's coming out for a rebuild, so not long now and it's sorted. Aparently the quality of the pump is pretty poor, but these guys rebuild them to better than new, so all should be good, apart from the bill, but hey I'm now way beyond counting how much it's cost, so what the hell.

Hi Kris,

Think I'll keep it on standard bushes for now. I've heard conflicting opinions on polybushes but since it is on standard springs and dampers etc I might as well leave it alone if you know what I mean. It will be good to get rid of some of the clonks and rattles from the front end though.

BTW, are the Surrey lanes open all year round? Was just thinking we were going to try and get down to your end of the world for a trundle round but so far something has always come up. I think once everyone has recovered from our Salisbury jaunt and all the motors are ready to go perhaps we should arrange something. Waddya fink?
Hi Kev, the main group of lanes near me are open all year round, there are some lanes a little further away that are only open for a short time and i don't know those ones that well. I will see if i can get some one to come along that knows them so we can have a look if we get time for them.

Hey Spyderman,

The guys usually ask me how I want my pump set up pure economy or a bit more at the bottom end for towing, I know my dad had it setup for towing on his 300tdi i believe its only a very slight differance mind you but he seems to think it was better Jai

Jai, I'm calling in to them in the morning. I'll mention that. I'd rather have it set up for maximum grunt, than economy. A few mpg is neither here nor there. It's only a toy.:D

id rarther a 800cc 4x4 fiat panda that i can afford to run daily and maintain than a v8 bowler lifted monster i cant afford. Hell id even consider a freelander! The green lanes we have done and the fun we have had in this group this year has been superb and it will continue im sure.

Ps anyone fancy having a go at trialling this weekend its being held near Tring let me know i will send you details tyro/newcommers course non damaging for 14year olds to adult newcomers Jai

Definitely up for riding shotgun Jai. Assuming the baby doesn't arrive at an inconvenient moment of course!

no worries i can only drive the tyro because one of the clubs running the Rtv event is very strict and my bumper is too high as well as a couple of other bits Jai

Jai, if your bumper is too high, I've got no chance. LOL.

I'm with you on the V8 thing.

You've got to cut your cloth.

Jai, I'd love to try trailing, but sadly I've got to go to Costa Rica in the morning, so I can't. Tough I know, but it has to be done

think the panda would suit you as well :) even if i had a 90, panda, I still would only able to use it as a weekend toy so dont really matter it was just a joke comment, doesnt matter what 4x4 you have will still gunna cost money just a laugh at end of the day, if you cant afford to do it wouldnt matter what ya used.
