If you have a look through these Freebie pages, you'll also see they can be absolute money pits. The 1.8 petrol (called the K series engine) blows head gaskets. Two diesel versions, the L Series and the TD4. Both good lumps but some prefer the L Series. The TD4 is a BMW lump.

I used a self tapping screw, 1/2 screwed in and used a pair of pliars to pull them out. They are then reusable. (I had to remove mine to get to the heated windshield connections).

Yes, I did the same thing. I just made up a plug wired into Pin 2 (+12v battery charge) and Pin 3 earth (white socket). Ran it into the read compartment (the door seal didn't damage the lead) onto the battery.

Sometimes I wonder why the feck the search box is there. There are almost ZERO new issues with Freelanders and all the past ones (including fixes) are to be found by searching ! Aghhh.................

Yes, I would say it's the rear adjusters.

Smoky at start up for the FBU is not unusual at all.

LR will not issue unless you produce the V5 at the dealership. If not, a crook could do it couldn't they :(
