First rule with something dangerous, dont scared, scared makes you nervous, nervous makes dangerous :) Respect it and learn how to use it and it will be a pwoerful piece of kit, as has been said, as well as lifting, you can winch with it, not only your vehicle but branches and other obsticles...

Yeh I am running two of these in a split charge. 1000CCA is more than enough to crank a defender engine!

Mate of mine fitted dual Odyssey batteries to run his fridge, lights, water pump etc on his overlander, he raved and raved about how good they were. I bought Numax for 1/3 the price and have had no issues ;)

A/T's with a Snow rating will be your best bet for Icy conditions. and General Road use, but will also be "ok" offroad. Many places sell BFG AT's depending on the size you need. Winches and Bumpers have been covered more times than anyone can count do a quick search and make your own mind up!
