What did you do with your Range Rover today

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Too much negativity and cynicism on this forum. As a matter of fact my p38 is driving very well thank you. As it should have done when it left the factory. The most comfortable 4x4 yet and cheap to maintain. Yes I have fitted a HP24 box together with a larger intercooler, JFearne chip, BMW...

The existing Mitsubishi turbo runs out of steam. I have measured it with Faultmate. The Garrett GT2256V turbo is sized for about...

no power and engine management light on

defender300td1 wrote: I didn't get a massage I know that for sure. I would have remembered that. There was nothing saying "limp home" mode on the dash. Can't remember which lights were on - it was years ago. I was ****ing about with the engine ECU at the time. I fitted a new chip and cocked it...

no power and engine management light on

Has it gone into "limp home" mode? Mine has done that. The car was absolutely gutless. The auto box also stopped working. I think it was stuck in 3rd gear as I remember.

    Why?

+1 The p38 beep must be the most irritating sound to man. Puts the hairs up on the back of my neck.

    Bare Minimum..............

Once it is all in bits you can mic up the crank to see if it is within tolerances. If if is OK then no need for a regrind. I would replace all the shells and O-ring seals though as a matter of course. Check everything carefully for damage particularly rods and pistons. Assuming the new liners...

    2.5 hse 2002

Do a search for DZUS quarter turn fasteners or Southco fasteners. You need them with a wing head.

    2.5 hse 2002

New brackets from a LR dealer are expensive as I well know.:o I don't know whether it helps but I saw a post on Rangerovers.net where a guy found out the proper name and size of the fastener used.

BECM awake light on a manual

No difference. I just locked the car on the fob and it took exactly 2 mins to go asleep with the bonnet both open and also closed. Of course the alarm beeped with it open. I made a plug to activate the bonnet switch to the closed position when it was actually open so I could measure the current...

BECM awake light on a manual

I have timed the BECM on my 2000 DSE auto. It takes exactly 2 mins to go asleep. I found having the bonnet open doesn't effect the time either. Starts off at 0.63A then drops to less than 10 mA.

    Kaiser Lockers

I was down at Ashcrofts a month or two ago and David said they now do their own lockers. Sold over 1000 apparently. He didn't say anything about Kaiser lockers but could possibly made for them by Kaiser?

    gearbox swap to v8td box

Try Ashcrofts. They have done all sorts of weird and wonderful conversions. They sell an aftermarket gearbox ECU called compushift. It can be programmed to what you want but is very expensive at £750.

    Classic Vinyl Roof

It is a Tudor Webasto sunroof. I used to have one on my old classic. A pain to open but when it is rolled right back it was great in the summer. It has a solid ash frame if I remember well. I got mine recovered, can't remember by whom. Try Woolies for old spare parts. I think the handle used...
