nanocom arrived .... yaaaaayyy...oh ?

well my nanocom evolution arrived today, i was a bit dissapointed that after paying nearly 30 quid for delivery ,it was just chucked into a jiffy bag :eek:. no protective box or polystyrene.
the initial dissapointment faded however once i had entered my unlock codes, and started to explore the unit. great bit of kit me thinks :)
any one with a nanocom, how was yours delivered, and what is the bit of flat alluminium plate for :confused:
looking forward to connecting it up to my p38 at the weekend.

I paid 50 quid delivery! from Cyprus for my faultmate extreme. Wrapped like yours, the screen was damaged in the post but I paid only 12 quid to send it back from the UK! :mad:

Not a good start but to be fair they did refund the 12 quid and it is a nice piece of kit.
 
it was a bit poor considering that i purchased a new rf reciever from island 4x4. it is about 3 inches square and arrived in a box full of polystyrene pieces, the box was 18 inches square :eek: and it was free postage
 
Mine arrived in an envelope in a Jiffy bag. No issues but I did chuck the aluminium plate into the top of the tool box, just in case! I've never found a use for it so I also assumed that it was screen protection.

Once I got the codes I sat in the car with windows going up and down and lights flashing on and off. Big kid with a new toy:D
 
The aluminum plate slides into the front to cover and protect the screen, a bit fiddly to get in, at least that's case on the Faultmate and the Nanocom case looks to be similar in construction.
 
If you can't get the aluminium plate to slide in, hold it in place with a rubber band.

Doesn't look as cool, but still provides protection for the touchscreen.

No slidey ini slitty on my Nanocom. :):)

There is a slight maybe 0.0025" lip where the case meets the screen. In other words the case is flush with the screen. No slitty slidey slotty. Think my alloy was taped over the screen when it came have not seen it since. :D:D:D
 
the size of the plate means that there is no way it fits the nanocom. if it was about 20mm shorter it would fit between the two end plates of the nanocom. ah well it will come in handy some time no doubt:rolleyes:

Nothing unless you have blues and twos fitted. Don't play with it.
