    clutch judder

    could be the clutch plate is warped, had this problem on my series landy, and that was the problem, best to get the flywheel reground just incase thats slightly warped also. atb

    just had a exmoor trim radiator muff for a defender, for a xmas pressie, and all i can say is, what a load of rubbish it is, considering it cost £50, it looks like it should have come from poundland. its made out of pvc thats about as thick as tissue paper, it covers up all the intercooler...

    regarding the bleeding off a 300tdi, i have pulled my hair out trying to get the air out of them, same probs as yourself air trapped in the heater matrix, cold heater, and then the head getting excessivly hot, the best way i found to get the air out, was using a small 12 volt submersable pump...

    multi layer shim head gaskets.......

    i have 3 tdi and done the heads on all off them with the steel shim gaskets, as they where reccomended, and all total rubbish, everyone leaks either small amounts off oil, or water, fitted the elring gasket and never had a problem again.

    just a simple thing to try, check the perge valve, the little round black plastic thing coming from the expansion tank, isnt blocked up, there are two pipes coming from it, one from the rad, and one from the thermostat housing, they can get full off crud and stop water flow shaun

    dont buy a zenith copy, total rubbish, im sure craddocks had some genuine ones in, or so it said:rolleyes: i managed to get a old zenith, refaced it fitted all new jets ect ect, and then put the webber back on:D

    Overheated today!

    definatly use a elring head gasket, ive changed head gaskets many times using ****part gaskets, and the steel laminate gaskets which all tend to leak oil, all had to be done again within six months:eek: fitted a elring gasket, never had a problem again:)

    It keeps slipping out?

    check the detents nuts on the selecters are tight, if they are you may be better off fitting some new detent springs in, the tension may have gone out off the old springs, thats all what holds the gears in. when i rebuilt my gearbox i fitted the new springs in mine, i fitted top hat spring...

    Td4 starting problem

    could be the fuel pump in the tank packed up, take one of the pipes out on the filter housing, they are quick release couplings, and see if any fuel coming out when the ignitions on

    stick to quality bearing like timken, skf, ect, forget the chinky and indian rubbish go to a bearing specialist, they tend to stock quality makes, most off my local landrover stockists only supply crap bearings, i have just finished rebuilding my series 3 box, bought all my bits of shop4...

    sorry 2ba by 3/8, thats the size i cut them on mine anyway, bugger to fit with the brake drum in place, should have fitted the cable before i but the back plate and drum on:doh:
