Folks,
I need to get my gearbox recond/fixed. Crunching 2nd gear, reckon the synchromesh is away.
Any good 4x4 guys here in Scotland, preferrably round the central belt or borders you could recommend??
 
Erm yes and no I suppose,

Ashcroft are great I would and hopefully will one day soon, buy their drive shafts/diffs etc I mean who else do you go to in the UK? Recon gearboxes again who do you go to? No one else compares although a few people like me moaning about their g boxes in the past. Gibbophil got his sorted out Just wish I was offered the same deal way back when my refcon box went tits after 13 months. I think I was unlucky because I was told the Dave or Ian was in Italy or somwhere on holiday at the time of my busted g box and I needed it fixed asap. so the box got put under the bench for another day.
 
Ashcroft didn't do Series Gearboxes for years. I spoke to them about my gearbox a few years ago and they recommended someone up near Birmingham.

Just checked their website, looks like they've started doing them again, £850
