I didn't either, lucky I had insurance, got a new box out of it, the mud and the sand ground the teeth on the gears down, went up a hill one day, and they were just grinding away, and I wasnt moving

It was m8..... that's how I know, and it cost the insurance company a lot of ££££££ (I took it to a stealer**** lol)
I know on 300tdi disco its where you put your timing pin in for diff
From underneath you push a pin through a hole in housing that locks into a hole in diff when timing is in correct position, this should match up with a locking pin that the goes in a the front to lock the fuel injection pump allowing you to do essential work on engine, ie change timing belt. I found out all this when I let a garage change my timing belt with out doing this procedure and making a right mess of my push rodsFor diff? Confused
