Damper bracket turned up this morning, 24 hours early, :D:D
Welded in place, and primed. While I was welding I noticed there was something going on on the axle, a little bubble of oil coming out of the axle on the joint, so cleaned up and ran a bead along the joint. Like most of my welding, not pretty, but it will do. Something that didn't help was the fact that I managed to catch the top of my ear in the hinge of my welding mask when I flipped it down. Good drop of claret lost in the course of events.:mad:

Left hand suspension replaced with new bushes, 1st top coat on new bracket. Hitch plate and brackets cleaned and primed.
At long last I feel I am making some headway. Seat box refurb in the next day or so.

What's the paint code on the RR im painting my D1 soon & the misses likes yellow ;)

Got all the black areas done yesterday. It needs a second coat of both colours but it will have to wait till the rain goes away.
Until then, I can do the bumper and other bits, make a plate for the rear door where a wheel carrier used to live...

I’m erring towards hard edges between the black and green. As mentioned before, it’s is what it had, what I uncovered, and is more appropriate. If I don’t like it I can change it at a later date, anyway.....

I likes that, one good looking truck.
I was going to go for chocolate chip desert colours for mine till I saw that, nah, I'll stick with the lighter colours. Do like it though.

Thanks!
I toyed with several options for colours - light stone and green, light stone and brown, green and brown.......
I had to stick with green and black ultimately, as that is what I’ve always wanted since I was a kid!

Just about finished the arse end of mine as far as the chassis goes, dampers and wheels back on.
Decided to take off the RH side spanner arm so that I can get to the chassis mounting bracket before I fit the fuel tank. All bolts came out easy, plenty of copper coat used when I did the bushes (for poly) about 8 years ago. Of course the spanner arm was being stopped from coming away by the main steering rod, so split the TRE and got one end out the way. The fecking steering arm is like a fecking banana, WTF, when did that happen ?
Looks like Paddocks are going to get another order from me.
While I'm ordering I might get a new front bumper, thinking STD galv item. Only thing is I have a good Superwinch (x9 - ?) kicking about in the shed somewhere and can't make my mind up wether I want to get a winch bumper to fit it. Never needed a winch in the 9 years I've had the 90, a lot of weight to cart about just to look cool.

Standard galv bumpers are cheap enough. Keep the winch and if you change your mind it’ll be there. Like you say, if you don’t need it, it’s just more weight to cart around. But yeah, they look cool:D

Brake lines clipped to axle, along with new breather tube as the old one was pants and I had some nylon tubing of the right sort of size.

Chassis end of spanner arm cleaned up and primed, after I re-did the welding of a previous owner. Not even as good as mine.

Found my spot weld drill bits ( bit of a miracle they were actually in the drill drawer) and removed the side of the seat base.

As luck would have it the replacement panel I bought from paddocks seems to fit, so that's tomorrow sorted. After I've refitted the fuel tank.

Talking it over with the doris (AKA Senior Management) this evening and the decision is to get a winch bumper and fit the winch, just to insure I never need to use it!!.
Having looked around I think this will be the one.

Some great progress going on! This is going to be a great vehicle when it’s finished!
I would love a decent work space where I could crack on with my tinkering regardless of time, weather etc!!!

That bumper looks just great - strong and discreet. I especially like the tapered ends and the fact that it’s not tubular as so many seem to be.
