I must admit there have been a few times when I have thought "Why the hell am I doing this" but then I think "it'll be good for another ten years when it's all done".
One thing for sure, I wont be stinting on the Dinitrol cavity protection.
 
Sprayed my rear brake mud-guards because I couldn't get them off to do it.

I finally have the dash in and the wiring out through conduit (bottom left of picture) ready for tomorrow when I will wire everything through a new fuse box.

The plan is to run most of the switched items from the second battery but with a bit of electrickery using five pin relays, certain things will run off the main and switch over to the secondary battery when the engine is shut down.
Once I have got it all working, I will upload the schematics if anyone is interested :)
 
Got a fright.

‘Cruising’ with the cruise control on this morning, and yes, mine can cruise lol. Touched the brake to knock the system off and it wouldn’t come off!!!!!!! Had to physically switch it off. Not a pleasant experience. It’s under warranty so going back to be checked out

Cruise control :eek: whats that :D If I wanted cruise control, I would have to get the Mrs to drive while I put me feet up :rolleyes:

Too much tech for me.
 
Got some paint on the Ninety today. Was a bit too warm really and the paint dries a bit roller rashy and brush marky in places. It’s a million times better than it was though!
The gaffer booked a last minute holiday last night and we leave tomorrow so no further progress for a week.
Also ran out of the green so need to order more as there is only one coat on there at the mo.....
Couldn’t resist trying a stripe or two though!!
Trying to replicate the pattern from when I first met her but don’t have any pics of the near side so having to go by what I’ve uncovered when sanding......

I can’t decide which edge I prefer to the strip..
The stippled brush effect (time consuming and potential for the edges looking like artex!!!).....

Or the rattle can ( which is surprisingly difficult due to the very wide spray pattern from the nozzle resulting in overspray and paint dust where I don’t want it!!)

As I said earlier, second coats required all over so I can adopt either technique....

Well I’ll go to the foot of our stairs!!
I tried the wd40 cap in my paint can but it was a female can so the cap didn’t fit.
I pulled the fan nozzle out of the paint can cap but the wd40 straw was too small.
I then found a slightly bigger straw from a can of brake cleaner which fitted a treat! Voila...nice lines!! I can’t believe that I never thought or heard of this before! “Inspirational”, is all I can say!!

Yeah I’m kind of torn between an original look and the soft edge that the rattle can gives.
Everything I’ve uncovered has been a hard edge....
Well, I’ve got a week to think on it now....

Took her to the jet wash and just did the underside. The cow and sheep sh@t was about 2" thick under all of the wheel arches, the mud (sh@t) flaps, the bumper was full. The jet wash area was in a hell of a state when I was finished. Had to put another quid in it to clear two tracks so I could drive out without going through all the sh@t I'd just blasted off :eek: Sorry, should've taken a picture :rolleyes:
 
Started getting some paint on the chassis, I have left the areas around the coil tops and bottoms and the rear/bottom link arms as I shall be taking those parts off once the A frame is bolted back on.

Starting on the axle, it's so fecking hot here at the moment (40 + deg C) I can get a 1st coat of black on it first thing tomorrow and by the time I've done the 2nd coat on the chassis and had a cuppa or two I can finish coat the center of the axle ready to install the A frame.
