Many thks, they work well and Must admit got so fed up using the cheap copies, also seeing I’ve got a lot of electrical work to do just wished to try and make life easier , lol

Inc retrofitting a loom for the heated washer jets, bought a second engine engine loom for the update , will have to open up the main engine fuse box, get a good few terminal connectors out in order I can thread it through the body so it’s neat and tidy

Sad part is I enjoy sitting down and doing things like this

Scuttle panel and wiper arms removed

Will repaint the panel, got new wiper arms to go back on , was a right sod getting the wiper arms off

Ordered some hycote plastic paint , not going to spend £60 for a new panel and would rather just rub the old one down and repaint it

Well, SWMBO's 300Tdi threw a wobbler - no clutch

..... guessing clutch fork, I took the box out to find ....

How very rude of it - only 105K miles too

..... ( the mess in there is all DOT4 from when the slave let go six months ago )

Looked somewhat better with a new fork and new pivot in place:-

Even works too

Although

..... just to reward me for fixing it

... the rear output shaft seal went

.... rendering the handbrake rather less than "effective"

... didn't smell too good either

...

Cleaned up the scuttle panel , also working out a route for the retrofit heated windscreen washer jet wiring ,

ie , maybe where I’ve drawn the blue line, just attaching the wire to the tubing , therefore leaving everything else alone , battery and fuse box has to be removed so may find a small route through, as u expect can see there’s an extensive amount of looms around that area so will have to be extremely careful when I move the loom out my way for access

Running the wire from the fuse box very low, through a panel , then follow tubing

There must have been a lot of polishes etc on the scuttle panel and it’s turned grey after allowing the soapy water to dry

I'm so impressed with the way you've sorted your D3

But I agree completely - it is all witchcraft

- it wouldn't live up here - too damp, so, having proved that with a certain FFRR, we're staying with simple

Bless u, that’s very kind of u to say , need therapy as I enjoy pottering around doing the jobs on it , as I’m on my own it gives me something to do

Plus been working out the panels that will be going in and obd2 live data management computer

Know I’m my own worst enemy , I even put cable ties round the same way

its taken me months so that the mods should therefore look half decent, with all the wires etc tucked out the way and all properly fused and in conduit etc

Hats off to you for devoting your time to something practical, rather than spending all day in front of that daft box with moving pictures

... Gotta be good for your back - keeping moving .... I know I have to - even with physio and Osteo most weeks (

) .... still need to keep moving or I seize up .....

And.... regarding the cable ties .... yep, me too

.....

Properly fused is a fine idea too --- years ago we had a fire on a digger caused by no fuses - it took the batteries out, the alternator out, the heater plug out ..... and the throttle stepper motor too

!!! .... I spent a week re-wiring the thing, and guess what .... it's now got a fuse box

I had a renault clio mk3 and there was a problem with the switch stalks which produced smoke but it also took out a circuit board because of no fuse. The mk2 was fused. So much for progress.

In the process of changing all my doors on my D1 project so thought id get the door springs
done & out the way done the 2 rears & moved onto the passenger front, wonder why the window
wouldn't go down...……

When the weather finally improved this afternoon removed the rear sunroof and resealed under the top trim and around the inside joints of the plastic drain mouldings. Sikaflex that was smeared on some of the roof came off easy with washing up liquid. Just need to find a way to remove it from skin. Front sunroof tomorrow.

Powder coated Hurricanes, I'd love to claim credit, but they came with the vehicle. I have bought some 16" alloys for better overland flexibility/performance and plan to switch between as required. They are standard silver, but I like the black-out look and I think I will get them powder coated too.

Removed the battery to charge it up. New (to me) 2002 Disco 2 purchased three weeks ago. Haven't used it this week. Jumped in it this morning to go and give blood and just got a whirr clickety click. Tried again, clickety click. And then click followed by silence. Had to jump in the other car. Will call in at my mate's garage and get it and the alternator checked before buying a new one
Will be looking for a service kit at Billing

Sets of alloys are cheap enough on fleabay. Sadly I've just upgraded to a Disco 2 so my other alloys won't fit
