I try not to keep any receipts for stuff because being reminded of just how much I've spent on mine would scare the bejeezus out of me
Just been to the LR stealer on the Island to order a genuine MAF .. £160
Why, well, I've tried the fleebay specials for £20, I've tried the VDO for £70 and I've never been entirely convinced any of them have actually worked properly, even though the Nanocom reports the correct readings with the VDO one fitted.
Anyway, I've just done what I maybe should have done in the beginning.
If this genuine unit doesn't have any effect, then I need to get a new me because that's obviously where the problem lies.
Or, I could just find a 100% working Disco TD5 and give it a test drive so I've actually got something to compare mine to so I can stop imagining things.
They've had to order one, but it'll be here on Wednesday. So, does it make a difference?

I'll certainly let you all know whether I've just wasted £160 or not
corrected.... for the sake of accuracyYou have too many now... you need to donate some of them to fellow forum members so they can repair them
Exactly. so many times people say there car is so much better after a change when they are totally expecting it to be. only blind tests are valid. You need to have someone set it up as a blind test, so when you test drive it , you do not know which is fitted.
Cheers
7 minutes of suspense now....£160 Genuine Land Rover MAF has now been fitted... was it worth the money? Was it any better than the £70 VDO MAF it replaced?
I'll tell you in about 30 minutes after I've given it a test drive...
