Pulled the autobox out my D1 as im going to convert it to a manual...
Back from doing two laps of the TT course (plus a bit to my house, so 80ish miles)
Once with the MAF disconnected and then again with the brand new LR MAF connected.
What was the difference? With the MAF connected, the engine seemed to have a little more torque at the lower revs and felt smother at the higher revs, but other than that, there was no real difference.
In fact, the difference was so little, I don't think that unless you've got previous experience of a TD5 engine with working MAF connected that you would ever be able to tell that something was wrong!
If anyone else would like to repeat a similar experiment, I'd be interested to know what your findings are.
Not a chance, I've already proved to myself that the MAF seems to be pointless. You forgot the lap with the VDO generic MAF fitted!!...................Out you go again.
It's not the AC drains... realised how easy it was to check them so just been out now. I'll check the roof gully tomorrow...
I don't think it's the sunroofs as they've been sealed for a while now, and when they did leak, the water would come out of the B-pillars straight down my neck!
Outside?I notice in ours there is some water around the bonnet release lever. Haven't a clue where it might be coming from.
Had that on a Merc and it turned out the windscreen wasn't sealed down by Merc properlyI notice in ours there is some water around the bonnet release lever. Haven't a clue where it might be coming from.
Let's hope it's not heater matrix
It Is on the to do list after the clutch and bigger leak from roof area.Had that on a Merc and it turned out the windscreen wasn't sealed down by Merc properly
Just seen this... do you know if it's a fair description of how to change the core?Let's hope it's not heater matrix
Took SWMBO's D1 for its MOT - passed, no advisories
We have a local MOT testing station that does nothing else, so when anything fails they aren't looking to do the work.Happy days , is always a nerve racking experience
I had the Worst luck when I had my last mot , because the back door lock failed shut whilst on the mot ramp , dealer wanted to rip the door card off and give me a bill for around £500 , done it myself for £60 quid, took it back for a free retest , passed, no advisories
