Et dans quel coin de la France habitez-vous, mon vieux?Joined landyzone,
Remembered not to translate my question into French.
That's the trouble with being an ex-pat or immigrant .
Queried my insurance and replaced 4x 255/55 18 all season tyres now need a nap ,
On a V8, not a big deal as it's on top of everything.D2 Alternator has been intermittent recently (according to the voltmeter hanging of the dash - fitted by previous owner, probably due to alternator fault) so I've got a solar panel plugged in permanently. Seems to be working ok so far!
Is it massive hassle to replace? (the alternator not the solar panel)
Garages want £500 so I'm guessing it's not an insignificant piece of work.

No not a difficult job if you're handy with (the few) spanners needed. You'll need to remove the viscous coupling fan which is the only 'special' spanner you need. I believe Halfords sell them + online obviously.D2 Alternator has been intermittent recently (according to the voltmeter hanging of the dash - fitted by previous owner, probably due to alternator fault) so I've got a solar panel plugged in permanently. D4 starter motor had given up. Stripped and cleaned (not by me) and now good as new )
Not done it on a D2 but with decent access it should not be that difficult.D2 Alternator has been intermittent recently (according to the voltmeter hanging of the dash - fitted by previous owner, probably due to alternator fault) so I've got a solar panel plugged in permanently. They could if it was the same car.Couldn't they do the alternator while they were there ?
OopsThey could if it was the same car.
D4 = starter problem, D2 = alternator problem.

Along the lines of?Drove to Burford and got a couple of comments.
Well, one bloke said, 'I haven't seen one that clean in many years' and another said, 'I had Disco one back in the 90's awesome vehicles' he asked if he could sit in it.Along the lines of?
