So does anybody fancy doing Hollinsclough in Derbyshire before that lane gets closed:rolleyes:,or should i post this in the north yorkshire thread.:D:D

:p:p:p:p Actually the North Yorks lot did Derbyshire recently, I believe they missed it out :D:D

Yeh just like we missed it out the other week  we were about 300 yards from it but i didn't want to risk anybody else's landy:).

Don't you feel brave enough to go down it Sue.

LOL, you cant shame me into doing it. You know I hate going down rock steps and I have admitted it enough times on here. Pheasant Steps were enough for me, I dont even like going down Cam, up is far better :D

Brian (Maddogminder) would probably want to join you as well

We'll we will go up it if you want:D:D

Well just did an extra laning trip with Zip. Dob Park to wash all the mud off. Zip let me lead :D:D:D

I chickened out, I think the water would have been up to my roof :eek::eek::eek:

I chickened out,

Did Zip?

Hollinsclough is too rough for my D2  Might be fun to be repositionable ballast in a more capable Landy though - i.e. a passenger.

Oh the bumper isn't as trashed as I thought - it's the foglight's mounting lugs which are shot at. A couple of fogs from ebay etc. should do the trick.

Good news, and no, Zip didn't risk it either. The stone approaches on either side, which you usually drive down were totally submerged. Zip drove the front wheels into it and the water was up to the top of the wheel long before we would normally enter the water. It was very fast flowing too and at least twice as wide as normal. Probably would have been another Paul D situation if we had tried.

Pffft, no sense of adventure some people .. ;)

No, not really, you did right. I've only been properly scared three times in my life, my swimming session was one of them! I'd hate to know of someone else going through the same.

The pics don't show just how wide it is tonight, and the bottom dropped away in front of his wheels, just where the current got bad. Zip said it was higher than last year when it came over his bonnet :eek:

And Paul, I think you have made us all think very hard before crossing rivers, so some good came out of it all :D
