going back to near the start of the thread and that low spare bracket on the door, one reason might be to carry bigger tyres, I have 7.50's on mine apart from on the back door, even with a standard small tyre the door handle and lock are a bit difficult to get at, if I put a 7.50 on there I wouldn't be able to access the lock or the handle

progress just for pete! for all the hassling me to get on with it :D

ive painted the spring seats with hammerite:cool::cool:

next i will fit the springs:eek:

Wasnt realy for my benefit as i already know what you`ve been up to, just thought others mite like to know hahaha :p

got the GB springs parabolics fitted on the back - it sits nice and high (pic attached) which i'm pleased about - the problem is it bottoms out on the shockers - whats the method of sorting this and getting more articulation will i need to fit longer shockers and raise the top mounts???? i'll have a research on here about that but any tips?? best shocks to buy???

got the petrol to the carb and it fired up almost 1st go (too quick for a video pete) but fuel leaked out of the bottom of the carb - i thought it was a drain plug so screwed it in only to find it wouldnt start anymore (and still leaked) so i took it out only to find its some sort of foo foo widget valve:doh: and at a guess me tightening it up stopped it starting - so after lunch i'm gonna replace the 2 seals in it and refit it and hopefully it will, start, not leak and i'll do a video :)

here we go 1st time it's run since 1992:D:D my phone ran out of memory but i was about to mention the wobbly dissy cap - not sure whats up there:confused:

needs a starter solenoid as the tab has broke off, but apart from that no leaks the new seals on the carb part (whatever it was) have cured it, and starts 1st turn of the key (well push of the spanner:rolleyes:)

i need to bleed the clutch better now as it stalled when i selected gear but so far so good:cool:

ok can't upload the video  whats this mean

bled the clutch so i'm certain its free of air but still it drags so it must be the plate siezed - any tips on the best way to free them without stripping it?
gonna try sitting it on axle stands and running it and hit the brakes to see if it frees off - worth a try as i can check the 4wd too :)
