Where did the crack start? Wild it be visible at full lock?
ive never seen a chrome ball snap like that except crash damage from the army but then it was ripped out pins not metal fatigue ,it seems some parts are really ****e now
First of all, Impressive repair job out in the field Sam. I would have been fooked (im about to replace the swivel seal on my drivers side and that job is making me nervous) Secondly, yes it probabbly is due to the huge offset of the wheels but like you said, surely comp safari trucks put just as much if not more strain on the swivels. Its not that common from the sounds of it.
Anyway, just have to deal with it.
A courier just turned up out of the blue to collect the broken swivel, it took me by surprise.
Would be nice if they would replace it, purely out of brand reassurance if nothing else!

Excuse my ignorance, when you here people talk about a salisbury axle?
is it a heaver duty thing or am i onto something different!
what axle is under a defender as they are built for work?
not really clued up on axles, but he did fookin well, to do that in the conditions he was in, most people wud of cried
