Is it me or does anyone else feel inadequate due to his knowledge.

just buy some 3 and 5 thou shim steel and cut them out with scissorsExcellent, thankyou for the help!! Shall do as you say!
Can I get shims off the shelf somewhere? I don't have access to a lathe to part any tube off etc.

And so the gearbox is back in!!
Got it built, bolted and mounted and both props fitted, with a new UJ in the rear along the way.
Filled up with oil and connected breathers, cooler and handbrake.
Still need to fit gearbox crossmember and exhaust sections.
Started it up but couldn't hear the box anyway.
Did you know that if you rev a Rover V8 right up with just headers fitted it sound a absolutely superb?!
