Hiya Clive, nope that bumper is a standard britpart item iirc.

On body lifted cars the bumpers don't line up with the body properly but suspension lifts do not affect the bumpers in any way :)

I had the rear bumper custom made but that's another story!

I'm dying to get out and test the winch but there is currently no gearbox in the car! :(

Pretty quick that matey. Makes mine look like a smart car compared to your m3 lol. I really need a synthetic rope too. I have to secure against something to respool my cable.

Yeah I'm chuffed with it, 90 seconds for a full spool approximately.

Synthetic really is awesome too, I was putting it off but after a heavy day if winching a year or so ago it was an immediate purchase as soon as I got home.

Just better in all aspects.

Mine was the cheapo eBay option from winch-it, 165 delivered for rope, competition hook which is very handy and alloy fairlead.

Well worth it!

You guys are getting moist in your pants about the speed of this winch, but it's not under load.

Wait 'til your wheel-deep in sticky mud, see how fast it is then. That's the only time it counts.

I bought it solely for the no-load line speed for which it is designed, under load I performs similarly to other competent winches in its class, but the no-load speed is exceptional which i was mainly looking to improve on!

Well that's fair enough but it does beg the question "why is no-load speed important" - I just don't understand because to me a winch is the ultimate tool to get me out of trouble and that's all - speed doesn't come into it.

Is it needed in some form of competitive environment?

Cheers
Dave

Basically the waiting time is huge if you're doing some winch heavy work, waiting for it to spool back in and often out again.

Most winches apart from £3k gigglepin 8274 are slow under load but that's they way it goes, this winch is intended to monstrously cut down on your waiting time when getting from tree to tree etc or during rigging etc.

Standing there waiting for alarming amounts of time for the rope to run back in get very tiresome. I don't compete but I do get the car into some heavy situations and the speed of the winch can double or triple our waiting time if it is a slow one.

This will be a huge improvement to my off roading :)

Has to be said however it will be interesting to see how it performs under load because although I can't remember the line speeds exactly, it has in round figures twice as powerful a motor and twice as fast a gearbox so it should pull the same load twice as quick??
