Hi pals

Sorry that was a bit of a quiet patch!

Urm yes it is basically an OCD thing mate!! :p

Now regards an update, the only update I have got is that there isn't an update Nd the car is still sat in the corner, unwashed with an open back axle full of metal chunks and a front diff still in the car and about 400 different parts of various different cars and axles strewn around every level surface inside of it.

Did actually pull it into the workshop on Saturday evening with the intention of returning for a full day at it on Sunday but then didn't get in until 6am on Sunday morning due to Saturday night so Sunday daytime went swiftly out the window and the car got pulled straight back out of the shop again this morning :(

Anyway the repair fund is building slowly and the shopping list is becoming more and more finalised so at some point something will happen.

The main intention firstly is to remove front diff and make a pile of stuff to sell and then go from there!

Cheers :D

Haha that's some panhard rod polybushes, another story, not even mine! :D

I've got 2 casings there to px for pegged units and one I need to build the diff on the right into to sell.

Much job. Plenty time. Rush casual.

Loving the idea of pegging a diff, whether a locker or not, just seems right.

Well, arguably we shouldn't have to, maybe, but YKWIM .. ;)

It is indeed a good solution to the CWP issue. just not cheap!

Yeah around 350 for 2 casings :(

tbh im really busy at the moment and for the forseeable future working on renovating my gaff so not having the car to think about (much) has been a bit of a help

it could be well into next summer before it actually gets taxed again but tbh im not too fussed, will be very well built by the time its done, and with pegged casings, ashlocker centres, ashcroft shafts and 2522 cvs should be fairly unbreakable with 33" tyres on

hugely looking forward to getting it built up but its gonna take time that i dont really have at the moment, so as it stands im quite happy dribbling money into the pot so that when the time is right i can buy a bunch of parts and get it all together fairly quickly.

have been picking away at little bits past few days, fettled the remaining bearing off the ARB locker yesterday and will fettle both of them onto a stock diff centre soon enough to get it sold on.

cheers :)

I know that feeling mate! Just bought my first house, can't believe the amount of work involved. and my poor disco has had all her interior ripped out to be used as a van for the next few weeks. Did manage to find time to pop the second ashcroft locker in first tho. Sorry for the hijack.

Proud owner of Ashcroft rear shafts :D

Also finalised my list of OEM axle/hub parts, LARGE box of stuff that will be when it arrives, plenty if goodies in it though, nothing too fancy just bits and pieces to get it all together, new stub axles, 2522 cvs, appropriate seals, gaskets, tab washers, bearings etc

Once I've stomached that I need Ashcroft front shafts and drive members then we can throw it together.

And THEN it's a call to Dave @ Llama4x4 for the braided brake hose kit (removed all traces of hard pipe from the car at the weekend) and hopefully once that's fitted I'll have some money for bread and water!
