ah, you are probably the one who told me about them! Jeez I'm glad I'm onto
them anyway. Vitey's running SO well!

eek. I got a TJM cast iron one for Vitey, mind you it was a few years back,
and it was around 300, from memory. It has done a good job, keeping the
roos and cyclists out of my engine.

Agree. I like their dog, too. (the receptionist).
If you can do it yourself/with mate, then that's a better option, use the
money for something else.

That's rather funny!

Never driven them, SII, SIII and 110 Landies yes, WWII Ford V8 4X4 SWB

I understand RAVs are optional 4WD, the computers onboard sense a loss of
traction and click in the rear, unfortunately if it's reached a position
where it needs it, it's usually so far stuck two extra wheels don't do much.

Toyota claim AWD, even Four WD. But they're heavily torque biased to front.
Which IMO makes them a JOKE.
They'd probably be a good thing if they had the bias reversed.

Protection from all the dickheads in cars that can't keep control at parking

And a Patrol or Landcruiser isn't a REAL 4WD?
You need to visit some offroad comps.
I've had a Landrover & Rangie and changed with bloody good reasons, got
better things to do than adjust brakes/replace oil seals & gearboxes/diffs.

Yep, rocket on the road, useless for bottom end torque, the one I saw on the
beach was reving it's nut off to keep moving in the soft sand.
I've seen plenty of the standard motors screaming in the mud past the 8000
mark on the tacho.
The standard motor doesn't lack top end, bottom end is the problem, my mates
was great when he put in a towing cam, and then just shoved bigger tyres
under it.

Wrong!!

the plastic bumpers don't have the strength to hold the spotties, you
need spottied in case you fall asleep at the picnic park in the outer
suburbs and it's dark when you head home

Q: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation.
A: Why is top posting frowned upon?

They have Ron. There's a few web sites in America where people have tried
that with great success. The problem was the exhaust clearance to the
steering box, but that's their problem for sitting on the wrong side of the
car anyway!!

Early ones 71-94? had to settle for coils whilst everybody else was fitted
with wagon springs.
They didn't get any more downmarket than my old 2 door, Sigma seats, no roof
lining, no trims, hose out interior, push up windows, then there was the
paint & the Mange Rover badging, I was expecting LRA to offer me a cash
settlement to remove it from circulation.
