What is TF930 diagnostics? Do you know for sure it covers P38? I've not heard of that diagnostic kit for the P38, most OBD stuff will do nothing.Update for me:-
Now have Diagnostics:
TF930 which is basic but covers Defenders, Discos 2, 3 and 4, P38 Rangies and later, Freelanders... and Jaguars! Can't reprogram but rear and clear faults.
Hawkeye for D2 TD5
Thanks fanny et al.

I know that, I just have not heard of the diagnostic kit he quoted. In the EU petrols had to be OBDII compliant from 2001 Diesels from 2004. So OBDII readers should work to some extent on vehicles after those dates. OBDII readers will do certain engine functions on petrol P38s but nothing else. And nothing at all on the diesels. Some manufacturer specific systems may still not be covered even after those dates.
