There is the Foose Way running South from the airport. Apart from the ford halfway along the byway it's hardly worth the visit, apart from short cut maybe
Hate the way they have ROW then restricted then back to ROW on that sectionThere is the Foose Way running South from the airport. Apart from the ford halfway along the byway it's hardly worth the visit, apart from short cut maybe
Depends on which council website you look at. Last time I looked you could drive the whole length depending on which map you use.Hate the way they have ROW then restricted then back to ROW on that section
That Ford is deep in the winter

I can't answer for the whole country but for the areas I've gone laning in, there are generally comments that are within the last 12 months - especially in the more popular areas and/or areas with active reps. The above form @Anaconda was my experience of glass and trailwise a few years ago so let my membership lapse. Everything on trailwise there seemed to be a good 5-10 years out of date so stopped renewing.
Has this now changed and and people are active on there updating routes and comments etc? I am looking at planning a route around the cotswolds for drive it day and an arcuate and up to date trailwise would certainly make things easier and quicker as a start rather than trawling through the council rights of way maps as a starting point
No but Shropshire and Warks have some good lanes and they're only an hour or so awaynot many lanes round the midlands…
I'm in the Black Country now but used to live in Cambs and still do a lot of laning over that side of the countrySo your closer the Black Country ?
Plenty of nice lanes round shropsshireNo but Shropshire and Warks have some good lanes and they're only an hour or so away

Pretty sure that is the restricted byway section and the reason why it's restricted. There are two fords on the fosseway. The one at brokenborough is quite deep most of the year but in winter or after heavy rain, it is very deep. The second Ford towards Easton Grey has a TRO if I remember correctly. It was used for off-piste driving which resulted in concrete posts being put in to ensure the correct route was taken but this was ignored, hence the TRO. There’s a very defensive resident living nearby who monitors the Ford too. It has been a few years since I last drove the fosseway though so the status would definitely need checking.
Being very straight and easily accessible, its use was made difficult by idiots on quad bikes and off road bikes going too fast so bear this in mind if you do use it. It’s also popular with horse riders and dog walkers in places so it’s unlikely to be quiet.
Last time I drove it was 2020 when were first allowed to travel after covid lock down.Just looked and last drive it 2019.
It is a shame but the 4x4 community only have themselves to blame. It’s a pity it’s restricted. You could drive from Kemble all the way to Sherston where the road became surfaced.
This is the article I was looking at: LINKYou have a Ford near bourbon and a length of right of way. Heading towards Cirencester & Cotswold airport.
A lot of construction on the new A417 may have closed a lane.
some of the lanes on the Motocyle sites are the restricted ones. Plenty of them in that area.
It’s a few years since I went that way as a guest with aylesbury 4x4 club.
Most of these are restricted and marked on the Os map as such. Even the little signs are up for the restrictions. Iv not seen bikes use these lanes as most are overgrownThis is the article I was looking at: LINK
Looking on google and the Gloucestershire council rights of way map (LINK) I think these are unclassified country roads. Nothing listed on the rights of way for map anything and some of them you can street view.
With life getting in the way it has been a few years since I have done anything like this in the UK, so am just working to get the resources together again that are the best and most useful to use for planning.
