On the basis that the defender is mid rebuild, I will volunteer my freelander in its place if any one needs help. It may be a freelander, but it is running and has a tow bar! all other details ref tools etc are the same.

feel sure I`m on the map also, but to refresh -
live bang on the coast of CLACTON ON SEA post code CO15 2** so we get many holidaymakers from all over coming here
(as "pete" found out)
got lots of old school tools plus 3 trolley jacks, numerous axle stands, 2 sets of h/d ramps, hammers of every size to include "Thor" copper & hide mallets - various sets of jump leads to suit any occasion - distance etc..
got boxes of various drills, taps & dies (left over from engineering)
got solid bar towing aid, various ropes, plus half a dozen really heavy duty ratchet straps plus smaller lighter ones.
got both mig & arc welders, a good selection of power tools / grinders both big and 4 1/2 inch.
got a small gennie that puts out 240volts or 12 volts which is handy for nackerd alternators / driving or just charging or for site lighting or maybe small angle grinder.
got 4 battery chargers last time i counted - silly i know but they have accrued over the years like most other stuff..
got compressors from nice tanked size to smaller mains portable to 12volt but only a small one.
always carry halfords tyre sealer & inflater plus "emergancy self plug" puncture repair kits.
can tow with my 200 diesel disco no worries, have plenty of concreted hard standing for more indepth repairs at home inside gated driveway.
not got lots of bedrooms to put you up but have 2 comfy settees in large living room ;)
(still got me tent / sleeping bag / fold down camp bed and stuff packed from the last scooter rally if you want some free wild camping on our great beach)..lol..
got flashing amber roof lights if its dark & dangerous,
trailor boards if its not..
got some big scaffold poles for lifting / moving / or tightening things....
even got petrol chainsaw if you decieded to get stuck in a tree...

proberly got much more stuff but i forget as i`m old.
I`m on mobile thats logged plus landline - not afraid of being txt late at night but might need to ring aswell to wake me.... Do like my sleep but in emergancys just ring me as I`m retired so no work in the mornings...

Not got diognostics stuff at all except basic volt meters and stuff for line checking.

we got RST landrovers of mersea island just round the coast for most landrover parts and there very helpful & priced well too...

you just have to wait for the tides to go down if its spring tides to get across the causeway - its salt.....yuk.. but smells so good...
thats it I think
ian...
