Mornin all.
High pressure gloom at the mo.
Off to buy tarps to replace the worn ones that go over the vehicles when we are away.
Opposite neighbours is now "Sale agreed".
If they move in while we are away?????????
Hmmm!!!
No likeee!
Of the other two neighbours in the close, at least one pair are ok.

Really do miss the lovely ones who moved out.

Do hope they chuck the kitchen and the bathrooms on the front lawn, that'll pea the nasty neighbours off! 🤣 🤣 🤣
I understand your concern. :(

..the builder has been (and gone). His men are tied up on another job so he came himself to do all the prep work and he has covered the flooring in the dining room and the route to the front door in correx.
Apparently they mark out the 4 corners by drilling through from the inside, then use a petrol-driven grinder to cut through about 5-6" or so deep on the outside, then drill lots of holes along the sides from the insides for the rest. He says it is neater and less messy on the inside of the house. They will return tomorrow and get cutting. :)

Dan, I'm sorry but I have been back a long way through your posts and I cannot for the life iof me remember why you have the builderers in!
Would you mind putting me out if my misery?

Hope it all goes well whatever it is.;):):)

A new window in the lounge area - or something along those lines - I think.
Then putting that stuff down in the hall etc seems very over the top for protection of the environs.

If that is what they are doing then good on them.
When we had all the windows replaced they put no p[rotection down at all. Mind they did a good job and left no mess.
They replaced 1980 wood framed single glazed with plassy framed DG units. Didn't evn have to repaint or anything. And they did it all from inside so no need for scaffolding.

Afternoon 😃 this morning I have been gardening.
I have also taken unwanted green things out and planted potential food for the year

Contacted the bloke I've been working with on these windows with this morning. He hasn't done a stroke in all this time and wouldn't be in today either and thought it humerous I'd be doing more flipping glossing today.

UY matey. I had intended to finish this Wednesday after starting the frames, but spat me dummy and threw the towel in first thing instead. Fed up glossing.

I explained to the gaffer and he was alright about it. He's been good to me. This week I'll now be attending to the scrolling list as provided my my beloved. New job next Monday.

Sorry to hear that it hasn't worked out. Plenty more fish in the sea. :)

Hi Stan,
It is to put a window in the darkened dining room. Darkened since we converted the conservatory to a garden room.
Pic may explain it all.
Where the oblong is marked on the wall is where a high-level opaque glass window will be inserted. Being done under a "building notice" and small enough (<1Sqm) to avoid the need for planning permission. Without this window the dining room is like a cave and the lights have to be on all day/night.

Ahhhh, but the secondary and lesser part of the job is to remove the lath & plaster(internal) and wire & stucco (external) section from above the front door (6 foot by 1 foot) to let more light into the hallway (also like a cave 90% of the year). So, as they will be tramping back and forth between the two work areas it sort of makes sense, and they don't want to tramp sand/cement and plaster products into our flooring. :D

I think I remember now. Is it the one that is going to very close to the neighbours?

i am still amazed at the "damage control " they are exerting with all the correx!:):)
